Ethnomusicology magazine that investigates and tells the story of the Colombian musical genre called "Vallenato" : “Vallenato” is a musical genre indigenous to the Caribbean Coast with its epicenter in the former province of Padilla (current south of La Guajira, Cesar and northern east of Magdalena) and an important variable in the savanna region of the departments of Bolivar, Sucre, Cordoba. Its popularity has spread now to all regions of the country and neighboring countries like Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and Mexico. Is traditionally interpreted with three instruments: the diatonic accordion, the guacharaca and box (small drum goat leather). The rhythms of vallenato music or air are the walk, Merengue, Puya, Son and Paseo. “Vallenato” also plays guitar and with instruments of cumbia in groups millo. cumbiambas and developed in the Atlantic coasts of the Caribbean for more than 100 years.
