Indians - the control of the SriVijay an Empire in the MalayaArchipelago led to the influence of Hinduism in sports-performedonly on special occassions.
Therefore, sporting activities were much influenced by Animism andHinduism.

British has influenced the most on the development of sports
culture and contemporary elite sports in Malaya.
The introduction to colonial sports such as soccer, cricket, andrugby spread like a wild fire among the local community.
In the early days, sports was managed by clubs and associationsrun voluntarily by sports enthusiasts.
Clubs were formed to manage training and competitions were heldbetween clubs and villages.
