TRANSCRIPT
‘Time’ is the fourth single to be taken from Chase and
Status’ second studio album ‘No More Idols’, and features
vocals from Delilah. Both are British artists.
The song was produced by Chase and Status and was recorded in 2010. It is an
upbeat track, which starts off slow and builds up to a heavy
chorus, leaving space for instrumentals which allow the
intended audience of dance fans to actually dance. They
lyrics are also quite repetitive and sexual, something which
is very conventional of the house genre.
The song made its first appearance on the UK singles chart in March 2011, where it debuted at number 40 on the dance chart. After climbing the charts for 4 weeks it entered on the official single chart at 90, before rising to number 58 in the next week. It was made the duos fourth consecutive top
forty hit when it got to number 38. Upon its release, the single peaked at 21, and climbed to
number 6 in the official charts in Belgium.
The lyrics of the song are quite emotive when accompanied with the slow start, however the
build up of when the beat drops creates more of an upbeat atmosphere and encourages you to
get up and dance. I feel as though this is the intended effect of the song, achieved through
the increased pace and tempo.
