HIT Club Championship Tournament 06/04/2013

30 Skiers turned up for the club Championship round. This sets a new club

record for participation at a club tournament, and perhaps sets a new W.A club

record as well. Well done everyone.

Thank you, to the President, Brett Illich for providing his new Malibu Txi for

the day and being a boat judge and Gary Weidman for being the Chief Driver

assisted by Phil Leschen.

A big increase in tournament participation this year has seen the starting dock

being moved to the Willem de Vlamingh statue. This has been a popular

decision, and we will approach the BPB to get permission to use it more

regularly next season.

Perfect conditions were presented to the skiers all day, and with that a few

new PB’s where skied. Well done to Carl Fadden, Graham Triton, Brad

Priddis,Caytlyn Illich,Jo Waite and James Mobridge who all skied new

tournament PB’s. Skier of the tournament belongs to Brett Illich who scored

1.5 on the 13m line in the first round. After a short break, he then throws

down a 3 @13m run to claim a new PB in the second round. Well done Brett.

Julia Waite, competed in her first ever tournament and is now turning into a

committed tournament skier.

Six months between our first and last tournament of the season has seen a

great improvement from our junior skiers. Kelly, Loryn, Caityln, Jacob, Bailey

and Jack have shown what commitment can achieve. Well done skiers.

Thank you to David Whitehead and Brad Priddis for once again supplying a

perfect slalom course. The new system has worked a treat this year.

I would like to thank all officials and skiers who have helped to make the

running of our tournaments a success this year. I look forward to working with

everyone again next year.
