HIV Epidemiological Facts

- Cameroon Population: 20 million- HIV prevalence 5.1%- > 100 000 HIV patients on ART (98% on first line)- data on NCD in HIV treatment naive patients or HIV patients on ART limited

-23% dilated cardiomyopathies- Dyslipidemia, diabetes, High blood

pressure are increasingly reported HIV and Non-communicable

• Prevalence rates:– Diabetes: 6%– High Blood Pressure : 24%– Chronic renal Diseases: 5-7%– Overweight: 25% in urban men, about 50% in

urban women– 6.5% men and 19.5% women are obese
