worldwide• HIV/AIDS has helped reduce the average life expectancy
in Africa down to 40 years• 12.3 million children are orphans due to HIV/AIDS

Causes
• The use of needles previously used by people infected with HIV/AIDS has helped the spread of the disease
• The lack of safe sex practices has also help spread the disease

Solutions
• Uganda was the first African country to respond the AIDS epidemic

• Many medicines have been developed to cure HIV/AIDS but none have worked 100%
• Some people believe that safe sex practices is the answer to stop the spread of the disease
