3 JOHN CRUDELE: TAKING ISSUES WITH THE ISSUES Speaker and author John Crudele will offer a presentation at Prairie Catholic School Auditorium on Sunday Oct 12 for our young people, parents and grandparents. John is an advocate for parents and their important role in creating strong families. With an energetic enthusiasm for life and positive change, John will reach your heart and captivate your emo-tions. This presentation is geared toward young adults, high school age and older, but will offer in-sights and strategies for anyone involved with young people in today’s world. Some of the topics he will address are: social media, bullying, alcohol and drug use and self-esteem among others. He will offer a presentation to our 6th, 7th and 8th grader classes on Monday morning. Any parent or adult interested in attending are welcome to attend this session at St Gabriel School auditorium.

Parish mission: Nov 2 – 6: Be a Saint! Evangelization by Attraction How do we evangelize? What is it to evangelize? This is something we are all called to do, because to evan-gelize is to live our Catholic Christian faith in our everyday activities. We evangelize when we are at work or at school, at dinner or at play. We simply cannot put our Christian faith on hold to live ‘normal life’. For a committed Chris-tian, normal life is a Christian life. Yes, we live this is a special way at Mass on the weekend, but that is to strength-en us and encourage us to live this Christian life within our families, businesses and schools the rest of the week. The theme of our mission this year, Be a Saint! Evangelize by Attraction is to help us live an authentic, joyful Christian life in every aspect, and to evangelize simply through a joyful life. This joy is one that is not affected by our emotions or temporary setbacks. The joy of knowing Christ, receiving him in Word and Sacrament, is a joy that transcends the things of this life. Please make plans to attend as many talks as you are able to join us. Learning how to capitalize on the joy of Christ in this world and to evangelize others with this joy is something our world is in dire need of; it is something our country, our state, our city, our parish and each of us individually need in order to live authentic Christian lives. Confessions and bookstore available each night.
