There is trouble brewing down on Temple Street. People all over Hong Kong come especially to taste the famous curry fishballs of two competing Dai Pai Dong restaurants, each with its own secret recipe. There has always been tension between the two bosses of the Dai Pai Dongs, who each run their own fishball gang. But matters escalate as gang members start turning up dead, the evidence pitting each fishball gang against the other. Can Detective Eason, a brilliant but lazy slacker, figure out who the murderer is before Temple Street turns into a full-out war zone?

Every year, we bring together our creativity, artistry, and dedication to present the NYU community with one amazing night of the best in Hong Kong culture and traditions; a night we all know as Sensations. Sensations has always been HKSA’s largest event of the year, but this year, Sensations is especially significant to our HKSA family. This year is the 25th year anniversary of Sensations, and as we look back at how far we’ve come since the founding of the Hong Kong Student Association at NYU, we were highly motivated to make this year’s Sensations the most incredible one yet.
There are some new faces this year as well as some familiar ones. The months of brainstorming, planning, and effort that were spent in preparation for this night have brought us all very close together. I want to personally thank the HKSA E-board, the Production Team, the performers, the stage hands, and the logistics personnel. I want to especially thank our producer, John Mak, for bringing all of our contributions together, and our director, Thomas, who inspired our actors to look deep down inside and truly understand their roles. I will never forget the precious memories that we forged as we fashioned Sensations 2K9, and I’m sure nor will anyone else.
I hope all of you will have as much enjoyment in watching the show as we had in making it. Have an exciting, intriguing, and most importantly, fun night. So sit back, relax, and prepare to be “sensationalized”.

Cathleen HungMC, Script Writer
Where’s Waldo? How fast do hotcakes sell? What’s Victoria’s secret? Perhaps the most confusing and mind-boggling question is this: How were we going to make Sensations work this year? A bunch of untrained actors and actresses, led by a director equally (if not more) lost, believed that they could do something productive with their weekends supposedly allocated for hard-core exam cramming (or mindless binging, depending on the exam schedule). It felt like a miracle how everyone could be so late coming to rehearsals, yet we still managed to pull this whole thing together.
First of all, I’d like to thank myself for doing absolutely nothing. It was a hard job, but someone had to do it. Props to Justin for picking up all the slack and getting us the food to fuel my excessive hyperness. Sugar is just what I needed for my calm-loving body. Next are the actors, let’s not screw up on stage! But even if we do, make it worthwhile and

memorable. Love you guys for always keeping a smile on me. I don’t want to leave anyone out, so please fill in the blank in the next sentence. You’re awesome, _____________, thank you.
So honestly, where’s Waldo? If we can get someone to dress in ever-so-fashionable red and white stripes, he’ll be at E&L on April 24th, if not, I think he’s on facebook, stalk him. How fast do hotcakes sell? Hopefully not as fast as Sensations tickets. Finally, what’s Victoria’s secret? It’s that Thomas Lau thanks everybody for coming to Sensations 2009.
On behalf of the entire Sensations cast and crew, I would like to thank you for coming to tonight’s show.
Sensations is the Hong Kong Student Association’s biggest event of the year. Every year we try to take this opportunity to raise awareness of the vibrant and dynamic culture in Hong Kong. In light of this year’s economic crisis, we have chosen to donate all your proceeds for tonight to Wokai, which is a charity organization that helps provide micro-financing to small entrepreneurs in China. We hope to celebrate those who believe in themselves in the face of all the odds. By being absorbed into the exciting Hong Kong culture, you are also contributing to making someone else’ dream come true.
Over the past semester, the Production Team has put in a tremendous amount of effort in preparation for tonight. Without their talent, effort, and commitment we would not have been able to bring Sensations to you. All members had to juggle their academic and professional responsibilities along with the important role they all play on the team. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all the hard work they have put into Sensations. Congratulations everyone.
I have enjoyed being the producer for Sensations and it was wonderful to work with everyone on the team. Again, for those who came tonight, thank you and I hope you will enjoy watching the show as much as we’ve enjoyed producing it.
