Binding the radio system: Theprocessofallowingcommunicationtooccurbetweena2.4GHztransmitterandreceiveriscalled“bind-ing”(sometimesreferredtoas“matching”or“pairing”).Theradiosystemincludedwithyourproductcomespre-configuredandboundfromthefactory.Intheeventyoursystemlosesbinding,oroneofthecompo-nentshasbeenreplaced,youwillneedtore-bindthetransmitterandreceiver.Followthebelowstepsforre-bindingyourradiosystem1. Ensurethetransmitterhasgood(neworcharged)batteriesinstalledandthatitispoweredOFFbefore
starting2. ConnectafullychargedbatterypacktotheelectronicsmoduleandensureitispoweredOFFbefore
starting3. Useatoothpick(orothersmall,non-metal,non-sharpobject)todepressandholdthebindbuttonon
theelectronicsmoduleandmovetheswitchtotheONposition4. Releasethebindbuttonontheelectronicsmodule5. TheredLEDwillflashquicklyontheelectronicsmodule6. Usingthetoothpick(orother),depressandholdthebindbuttononthetransmitterandmovetheswitch

antenna2. Gears:Periodicallyremovethegearcovertoinspectthegearsandensurethereisnodebrisinthegear
compartmenta. Propergearmeshsettingiscrucialforproperoperationandlifeofgearsinyourproduct.Itis
importanttohavethepiniongear(attachedtomotor)asclosetothespurgear(attachedtodriveshaft)aspossibleyetwhileprovidingaminimalamountofbacklash.Backlashistherotationonegearhastomakebeforecontactingtheother.Havingthegearmeshsettootightwillcauseexcessloadontheelectricalcomponentsandmaycauseprematurefailure.Havinggearmeshsettooloosewillcauseexcesswearandpossibleskippingofteethduringoperationthuscausingexcesswearandprematurefailure

b. Signstolookoutfordeterminingifyourshockneedstobemaintainedorrebuilti. Oilaroundtheshaftmeanstheoilleakedfrominsideandneedstobereplacedii. Persistentoilaroundtheshockshaftorlowerportionoftheshocktypicallypointstodam-
agedO-ringswhichwillneedreplacing.SeeyourlocalHobbyTownUSA®forreplacementparts
iii. Refillingyourshocks:01).Removeshockfromvehicle,removespringandtopcap02).Withshockshaftextended,addoiltotopofbody(useonly100%siliconeoil)03).Slowlycompresstheshockshaft50%oftravelusingatowelorpapernapkintoclean
upoverflowedoil04).Slowlyreinstalltheshockcapandcheckforfreemotionofshock05).Itisnormalfortheshocktorebound(withthespringremoved)afterfullcompression
andreleaseiv. ReplacingtheO-rings:
01).Disassembleshockandremoveshaftfromthebody02).Carefullyremovelowercapbypryingwithafingernailorsimilarobject03).RemovetheO-ringsandreplacewithgenuinereplacementparts04).Re-assembletheshockfollowingtheRefillinginstructionsabove
4. Tiresandwheels:a. Inspectthetirestoensuretheyareproperlygluedtothewheels.Thetiresonyourvehiclecome
pre-gluedfromthefactory;howeverafterrunningyourvehicleitispossibleforthegluetocomelooseinsomeareas.i. Toreattachthetiretothewheel,usehobbygradeCyanoacrylate(CA)glueandapplysmall
amounts(onedropatatime)betweenthetireandwheel.Allowthegluetofullydrybeforeoperatingyourvehicle
Caution: Be sure to use extreme care when using hobby-grade CA glue. It is specially formulated to cure quickly and create a strong bond. It will bond skin and can cause injury if used improperly. Follow manu-facturer’s warnings and directions when using CA glue. It is always recommended to wear eye protection when maintaining your vehicle.
ii. Whenreinstallingtires,usecautionwhentighteningthenutsthatsecurethewheelstothevehicle.Ensuretheyrotatefreelybutdon’twobbleexcessively.Overtighteningthewheelswillcauseexcessstrainontheelectricalandmechanicalcomponentsofyourvehicle.Oper-atingyourvehicleundertheseconditionswillvoidyourwarranty
iii. Tirewear:Consequentlyrunningyourvehiclewillcausethetirestoeventuallywearout.BesuretoobtainandusegenuinereplacementpartsfromyourlocalHobbyTownUSA®dealer
