WOW!!!! We have made it to the end of Term 2 and what a term it has been. As a community we have faced many, many challenges throughout the

term both in the educational setting and for some of us, in our personal setting as well. And, as a community, we have taken on the responsibility of

providing support to ensure everyone has been able to cope with the changes and adjustments that have been forced upon us.

The end of term also signals the end of my position as Relieving Principal of Hobartville Public School. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the

staff. I know this may sound a little cliché, but, you are the best group of professionals I have had the pleasure of managing and working with. The effort,

commitment and professionalism that you have shown during this unsettling term has been exceptional. The fact that our school has appeared to be a

settled, calm and happy place of learning is testament to the way you have all worked together, with always one goal in mind, to deliver to our students

the best education and welfare support that is required to ensure they grow as successful, respectful citizens. To our students, you have risen above the

challenges and managed a very different style of learning with success. Your engagement in remote learning is commendable and the manner in which

you have returned to face to face learning has shown a great level of resilience. It is so nice seeing everyone back at school, after all, what is a school

without the sounds of learning and laughter of our students. To our parents and carers, thank you for your continued patience and acceptance of the

adjustments that we have had to adhere to and for the support and guidance you gave your child/ren during remote learning. The staff acknowledge

that it was a very stressful time but are truly thankful for your efforts.

Term 3 will see a continuation of the health protocols we are currently using. So until further notice, schools are still being directed to avoid any non-

essential people coming onto school grounds. Therefore, we will continue to follow our drop off and pick up procedures. If for any reason you require to

visit you must only come to the office. We will also be continuing with regular sanitising, consistently applying this throughout the day. As arrangements

and conditions change, the community will be kept informed. We will also see many of the events and field trips that were postponed begin again.

Information around these will continue to feature in our regular channels of communication via Facebook, Class Dojo and our school’s website.

Next term will be a special time for our school. Mr Luke O’Brien will begin his tenure as our new Principal. On behalf of our school community I would

like to extend the warmest of welcomes and I’m sure everyone will be more than happy to show him how wonderful our school and its community are.

The safest way to cross Valder Ave is at the Children’s Crossing located in front of the

school gate.

If your child walks to school on their own, please encourage them to use the ‘Children’s

Crossing’ when crossing Valder Ave. Children must cross the crossing in between the

red and white poles.

We have submitted an application for a ‘School Crossing

Supervisor’. In order to be eligible, all students need to

cross at the Children’s Crossing point on Valder Ave.

Changes to morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up as students return back to school. To reduce the flow of parents and carers into our school, there have been slight changes to our morning and afternoon procedures to ensure our staff and students are safe during these times. If you would like to speak to your child’s teacher please arrange a meeting via Dojo or contact the school office direct.

In the morning, parents are asked to drop their children at the front or back gate. There will be

teachers supervising both gates, asking students to please use the hand sanitiser provided.

In the afternoon, students can be picked up from either the front or back gate. Teachers will

bring the students to either gate before the bell rings at the end of the day. Please ensure your child

knows which gate they will be getting picked up from. (Bus students line up as per usual)

Hobartville Clothing Pool Due to the clothing pool being run by parent volunteers and the

ruling in place to limit parents inside school grounds, the clothing pool is

unable to open. School uniforms are still able to be bought at

Brynorm’s Uniform Shop in Richmond.

A Message from Mrs Trimboli

A big THANK YOU to all the parents and students who have returned

all the books from Mrs Trimboli’s learning packs.

Well Done!

Also, Just a reminder please check for any books and send them back

to school.
