CHECK - The unit should be secured on a flat surface and the 2 rear wheels locked. Ensure that the area around the unit is dry and non-slippery - Always assist clients when they get in and out of the chamber to prevent them from slipping or losing balance.

IMPORTANT - Always ensure that the electrical cables are dry and not exposed to water spillage or leakage (be cautious when filling up the water tank so as not to spill water on the electric cables or power adapter).

CHECK - Make sure that all leads are intact - inspect the leads before use to be sure that they have not been damaged or severed (i.e. exposing the wires inside).

WARNING - If the steam compartment fills with water during a session or pre-heat, then that water will start to boil and will make the foot rest very hot! If this happens, then the client may burn themselves on the foot rest.

WARNING - DO NOT smoke near the oxygen concentrator (oxygen in high concentrations is flammable).

WARNING - DO NOT use ether near the HOCATT™, as ozone and ether form a reative mixture.

CHECK - There should always be someone (yourself or an assistant) in the room with the client during their session to monitor vital signs, ensure that the neck blanket or towel around the neck is secure, and to safely help the client exit the chamber in case of discomfort or panic.

IMPORTANT - If any of the equipment malfunctions during a session, or if anything happens to the client during a session, press STOP immediately! This may give you enough time to turn off the HOCATT™, and get the client safely out of the chamber, without exposing them or the room to a large volume of ozone when opening the chamber doors. In the case of an emergency, press STOP immediately, open the doors and assist the client out of the chamber as quickly as possible. Avoid inhaling the ozonated steam.

IMPORTANT - Clients with heart conditions should first consult a cardiologist and takeextra care by using lower temperature settings.

IMPORTANT - If their heart rate drops as the session continues, discontinues, discontinue the session.

IMPORTANT - As the temperature increases, and towards the 2nd half of the session, the heart rate normally increases by 50-80%.

It is not uncommon that some clients do not see any response for the first 2-3 sessions.

IMPORTANT - It is recommended that ALL CLIENTS, regardless of heart condition, see their primary doctor before using the HOCATT™. The client should inform their doctor that theywill be using a temperature-controlled steam and FIR sauna where their head will NOT beenclosed in the sauna, and their doctor should perform the regular health-checks (e.g. take blood pressure, heart rhythm, etc.)

Clients with heart conditions, as well as elderly clients, should consult their cardiologist about using steam and FIR saunas before doing a HOCATT session. They need an EKG (not older than 12 months) and they need to be CLEARED to use a sauna by their cardiologist before doing a HOCATT session. Their cardiologist may also recommend asafe temperature range, as well as a heart rate limit that may not be exceeded.

The same applies for clients and those with known heart conditions who would like to add a Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) program to their HOCATT session (i.e. the client must first see their cardiologist for approval and obtain an EKG).

The HOCATT Plus has a heart rate monitor, so that you can monitor the client’s heart rate throughout the session. You can also set a heart rate limit (e.g. 120 beats/min). If the client’s heart rate exceeds this limit, then the whole system will shut down.

The body will adjust over time, and so a better response should be noted over time - theincreased heart rate is a healthy response from the immune system.

Whether the client is using all of the modalities simultaneously, or even when using certainmodalities individually (i.e. as stand-alone modalities), it is very important that they drinkplenty of water before, after, and even during a HOCATT™ session, as well as throughout therest of the day and the days that follow. The HOCATT™ enhances cellular metabolism and detox. Drinking water helps the body to flush out toxins that are released from the cells.

It is important to note that detoxing the body too fast, especially if there are many toxins present, can overload the body’s avenues of elimination. These include the kidneys, liver, colon, lymph system, skin and lungs. When these organs are overloaded it can result in a detox reaction or “detox crisis”. The client may experience anything from flu-like symptomsto a skin rash. It is the body’s way of trying to get rid of the toxins through other means.

Page 8: HOCATT Plus TM · 2020-05-19 · they get in and out of the chamber to prevent them from slipping or losing balance. IMPORTANT - Always ensure that the electrical cables are dry and

IMPORTANT 1. CHECK - The client’s face area should always be 100% insulated around the neck using

a neck blanket and/or towel.2. CHECK - Never run a session with the chamber doors open and the oxygen concentrator

on - this will release a high concentration of ozone into the room.3. CHECK - It is advisable to have good ventilation flowing through your HOCATT™ room -

especially if your HOCATT™ is used by many clients each day, and the room is small (itshould not be smaller than 3 x 3m). Open the windows and doors, use standing fansand install extractor fans.

While ultimately a detox reaction is a sign of a good thing (i.e. the body is trying to eliminate toxins in any way that it can), and one comes out of it healthier and less toxic, it can still be an unpleasant experience. Detoxification is much easier when you support your body’s normal elimination systems. When these organs are working well, and there is suficient water and nutrient intake, then most detox reactions pass quickly, and sometimes even go unno-ticed! This is why it is very important to drink plenty of water and take supplements, such as Chlorella, to help support the liver, kidneys, colon and other elimination systems. Be sure to tell clients to do this if they find themselves experiencing a detox reaction.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) & Heart Rate Cables

Do NOT pull/yank on the Heart rate monitor OR FSM electrode cables! hancle this equipment with care, and plese ask your clients to be very gentle when you hand them the heart rate monitor or electrodes - especially the heart rate monitor. These cables are very delicate, and are easily damaged when handled roughly.

FILTER ON THE OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR

The lter (grey sponge) on the side of the oxygen concentrator should be cleaned every 2 Months. Remove the lter, run it under warm water and leave it to dry. Place it back on the concentrator.

DISTILLED WATER

We recommend that you use store-bought distilled water. The manufacturer’s Warranty does not cover any damages to the HOCATT™ that result from using water that is not distiled. Regular tap water contains natural minerals, as well as chemicals to kill bacteria. Not all of the chemicals can be ltered out with regular water ltration systems. any chemicals or minerals in the water will packonto the elements inside the steam generator (kettle). When this happens to the level sensor, itwon’t be able to relay to the HOCATT™ that it is “full” of water. Likewise, if the brass-copper valvegets clogged it can get stuck open (water can’t enter kettle) or closed (kettle overows and thesteam compartment oods).

What is distilled water?

Distilled water is NOT the same as ltered water!Distilled water has gone through rigorous ltration and distilleation processes. Distillation involves the boiling of water and then condensing the steam into a clean container. Distilled water is not only stripped of contaminants and chemicals, but it is also stripped of any natural minerals.

Page 12: HOCATT Plus TM · 2020-05-19 · they get in and out of the chamber to prevent them from slipping or losing balance. IMPORTANT - Always ensure that the electrical cables are dry and

WHAT ABOUT REVERSE-OSMOSIS WATER?

Reverse osmosis ltration involves dierent lters, and it does remove minerals, chemicals and contaminants from water - however, most reverse osmosis systems have a nal lter that re-miner-alizes the water. Using reverse osmosis, or any other kind of water that is not distilled water, will disqualify you from the Warranty.

CLEANING THE HOCATT™

IMPORTANT - DO NOT use Ammonia-based cleaning products!

Clean the HOCATT™ between or after sessions using your own solution of distilled water and 3% H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide). Fill an empty spray bottle with 2 parts distilled water and 1 part H2O2i.e. for every 2 cups water, add 1 cup H2O2.

1. Give the HOCATT™ a wipe down with a cloth to soak up all the water that hascollected inside the chamber. Also use a drying towel for the steam compartment (areaunderneath the foot rest) - use the towel to push the water into the drain and soak upany excess water. Remember to drain the water from the steam compartment afterevery session!

WARNING: If the steam compartment fills with water during a session/pre-heat, thenthat wter will start to boil and will make the foot rest very hot! If this happens, then theclient may burn themselves on the foot rest.

2. Next, spray down the interior with your water H₂O₂ Solution, and wipe it clean with atowel.

REMEMBER to clean the:- Back rest- Seat (remember to also soak up the water that collects underneath the seat)- Doors- The 3 tubes- Foot rest area & FSM foot plates- Steam compartment (area undernearth the foot rest)

If used, also clean the:- FSM electrodes: after cleaning, place the electrodes upside down on a paper towelto absorb any moisture that might have entered the ttings (where the wires areplugged into). You may also apply some W-D40 spray to the ttings to preventrusting. Place the electrodes upside down on some paper towel/tissue so that theymay dry.

DRAINING THE WATER

From the HOCATT™

There are 2 main water outlets and 1 nozzle located behind the HOCATT™:

A. The outlet at the bottom of the HOCATT™ in the MIDDLE is todrain the water from the CHAMBER. This water must be drainedafter every session. This is because the steam condenses intothe water inside the chamber during each session. This water, along with any toxins that are sweated out, collects inside thesteam compartment (the area underneath the foot rest). If thiswater is left too long it can stain the HOCATT™, and too muchwater in the steam compartment will prevent the steam fromrising inside the chamber - so the client will get cold!

B. The outlet on the bottom RIGHT corner is to drain the STEAMGENERATOR (kettle). It is good practice to completely drain thekettle every week and let it remain empty for at least a day,e.g. if the HOCATT™ is in use during the weekdays, then drain thewater completely on a Fruday after the last session and fill it againon Monday morning before your first client arrives.

How to drain the water:1. Place a flat container underneath the outlet you wish to drain and open the valve.2. In order to drain ALL the water, you can ask someone to carefully lift the front of the

HOCATT™ until there is no more water coming out of the outlet. WARNING: if liftedtoo much, you risk cracking the middle valve.

3. Close the valve.

C. The white nozzle, which is located near the steam generator’swater outlet (B), is connected to the small internal ozonedestructor. Some condensation will gather and drip from thisnozzle. If you do not want this condensation dripping onto thefloor, you can cut off a small piece of the extra silicon tubingprovided and connect it to this nozzle. Let the tubing hang intoa cup or small container to collect any water that may drip out.

™ PREPARATION & SAFETY CHECKS

1. CHECK - Ensure that there are no wet and slippery areas — clean any water from the floor, and place a non-slip mat cushion on the floor in front of the chamber for clients to step on,so that they do not slip getting in / out of the chamber.

2. CHECK — Ensure the wheels are locked.

3. CHECK — Ensure adequate ventilation (see warning “Inhalation of Ozone” on page 06).

4. CHECK — Ensure that the wall connections are all secure and, if using an extension cord, usea 20 Amp extension cord only.

5. ACTION — Turn on the oxygen concentrator and HOCATT™ Chamber.

6. CHECK — Make sure that the reservoir has enough distilled water for a session (at least ¼ atank). You can slowly pour the distilled water into the opening behind the chamber usingthe provided watering can. NEVER add disteilled water unless the unit is turned ON.The lever on the gauge will move, indicating the level of water in the reservoir.

7. CHECK — Make sure the humidifier bottle at the back of the chamber has enough distilledwater (between the upper and lower level). If the water level is too low, unscrew and openthe humidifier bottle and add required amount of distilled water, and then screw thehumidifier bottle back into place.

8. ACTION — Open the valve on the CO2 bottle and check the guage to see if there is still CO2in the bottle.

9. CHECK — See that the heart rate monitor is working correctly.

10. CHECK — Ensure that the top of the steam jet (the side with the sieve) is facing up at alltimes. WARNING: Make sure that the steam het is COLD before touching it.

11. OPTIONAL — Add essential oils to the session: lift the lid of the metal steam jet (located inthe middle of the foot rest) and place some gauze/cotton wool into the cavity. Add somedrops of essential oil to the gauze/cotton wool and then close the steam het. WARNING:Make sure that the steam jet is COLD before touching it.

12. OPTIONAL — Attach a glass funnel / set of breast cups (for cupping), or attach a catheter (forVaginal Insufflation) to the Ozone 2 (auxiliary) tube, if the client wishes to do either. (Note:The Ozone 2 (auxiliary) tube is located behind the right calf when sitting in the chamber.)

13. OPTONIAL — Using the Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) Cables, attach the electrodesto the FSM inputs behind the chamber if the client wishes to do the FSM.

Oxygen Concentrator:

Switch on the oxygen concentrator, and make sure the ow meter is set to roughly 2.5L/min(NOTE: never put the Oxygen higher that 3L/min).

Behind the Chamber:

In order to adjust the ow meters behind the HOCATT™ chamber, both the HOCATT™ and the oxygen concentrator should be switched on, and the CO2 valve opened.

Ozone 1 400ml/mn

Ozone 2 200ml/min (when not using a catheter or funnel/cups)

Oxygen 2.5L/min (NOTE: never put the Oxygen higher than 3L/min)

CO2 Completely Open (See instructions below)

On the CO2 regulator:

The ow meter on the CO2 regulator must be to 5L⁄min. In order to adjust the ow meter on the CO2 regulator, you need to:

1. Open the valve on the CO2 bottle all the way.

2. Switch on the HOCATT™ and start a session (i.e. CO2 needs to be flowing into thechamber to adjust the CO2 flow meters, as the steel ball inside these flow meters willNOT move unless a HOCATT™ session has started. See pages 18 -20 to start asession).

3. The CO2 flow meter behind the HOCATT™ Chamber needs to be completely open (i.e. thesteel ball should sit at the very top of the flow meter, i.e. it can’t go higher).

4. Then you will be able to set the flow meter on the CO2 regulator to 5L/min.

5. Stop the HOCATT™ session and continue with the set-up.

1. ACTION — Have the client read and sign a Client Consultation Sheet and review the Contraindications with them. Once the client fully understands the HOCATT™ process, have them sign the Consultation Sheet BEFORE they have their 1st session.

* An example of a Client Consultation Sheet can be found on the Website in the Wellness Documents.

2. ACTION — For Home Users: Please make sure you have read the Contraindications Guide before you use the HOCATT™. If you are going to have friends and family use the HOCATT™, please make them read it as well before they use the HOCATT™.

3. ACTION — When starting any detox program, you need to open the bowels and colon so that toxins can be excreted. It is advisable to undergo a colon cleanse program. So, now is also the time to talk to the client about having a colonic irrigation, or to start a course of natural dietary supplementation (Such as Oxy Powder MgO) to clean out their entire small and large intestines.

4. IMPORTANT — Measure the client’s blood pressure and heart rate, and write down the values on their *Session sheet.

* An example of a Client Session Sheet can be found on the Website in the Wellness Documents.

5. The Client Should:- Not be exhausted (After strenuous exercise) or little to no sleep the night before,- Not be fasting (for food and / or drink),- Wait 2 hours after eating a heavy meal,- Have a light snack (i.e. do not sauna on an empty stomach),- Drink at least half their body weight (in pounds) of filtered water (in ounces) the

night before a session, e.g. if the client weighs 140 pounds (~63kg) they need to drink at least 70 ounces (~2 liter) of water.

- Drink at least half their body weight (pounds) of filtered water (ounces) before the sauna session itself.

- Client should NOT exceed the 160kg weight limit

6. ACTION — Before starting their 1st session, the client should sit inside the HOCATT™ fully clothed so that you may adjust the seat height. Make note of this on the client’s Session Sheet. You should also review the place where the feet are located, and if necessary (for shorter people) flip the foot rest over, so that the client’s legs are resting comfortably (and not dangling from the seat).

7. ACTION — To make future sauna sessions run smoothly for the client, you should note down all the attachments (i.e. catheter / cupping), optional modalities (i.e. FSM, preferred Essential Oils, etc.), and settings used for the client on their Session Sheet, so that you can have it ready for them them when they next arrive.

(NOTE: The client should undress completely, as the more skinexposed to the steam the better, and then cover themselves with their towel.)

9. CHECK — The temperature inside the HOCATT™ should be around 40˚C before youassist the client into the chamber because you will lose steam (i.e. the temperature willdrop) while the client is getting in.

10. IMPORTANT — DO NOT run the pre-heat continuously, as continuously heating the unitto 45˚C may cause the element to burn out.

11. WARNING — To prevent burning / injury, be careful not to touch the steam jet during orright after a pre-heat / sauna session.

1. ACTION — Remove the towel covering the top opening of the chamber, and open thedoors carefully so as to not place any strain on the door hinges.

2. ACTION — Help the client into the chamber, and then carefully close the doors. DONOT put pressure on the doors when they are open.IMPORTANT: The warranty on your chamber / cabinet body is 1 year. However, damageto the doors, hinges of the doors, or the chamber as a result of excessive weight orstress on the doors and / or hinges is NOT covered by the Warranty. You should alwaysopen the doors carefully, and clients should never put any weight on the open doors atany time — especially when entering or leaving the sauna chamber. The doors arecustom made for each and every chamber, so if they are damaged you may have toreplace the entire chamber (this will be very costly).

3. WARNING — To avoid burning or injury, tell the client to be careful not to place their feeton / over the steam jet as they enter the chamber. Also remind the client to keep theirfeet apart during the session to avoid the steam as it rises from the steam jet. This is also a good time to tell the client about FSM and point out the foot plates for this. There are also Far Infrared Panels located underneath these foot plates, so it is a goodidea for the client to place their feet on the foot plates regardless of whether or not theyare doing FSM.

4. ACTION — Once the client is settled inside the chamber, ask the client to:- Keep their feet apart (to the sides / on the foot plates) so that their feet remain

away from the centre (where the hot vapour comes out of the steam jet).- Uncover their body as much as possible (if they entered with a towel on).- DO NOT cover the thermostat with their body, as this may interfere with the

temperature reading.- Insert the catheter (if the client wants to do vaginal insufflation — see page 27 for

full instructions).- Locate the glass funnel or breast cups and place them over the desired area if

the client has opted to do cupping — see page 27 for full instructions.- Place their feet on the FSM foot plates and / or hold onto the FSM electrodes if

they wish to do FSM (NOTE: Carefully pass the electrodes to the client throughthe top opening around the client’s neck, feeding enough of the cable through sothat the client does not pull / tug on the cables).

- Attach the heart rate monitor to their finger, and to make sure that their finger isdry when they put on the heart rate monitor — if the client’s finger is too wet, itcan interfere with the reading from the heart rate monitor (NOTE: Carefully passthe cable through the top opening around the client’s neck, feeding enough of thecable through so that the client does not pull / tug on the cable when they movetheir hands).

IMPORTANT — DO NOT PULL / YANK on the heart rate monitor and the FSM Elec trodes! Handle this equipment with care, and please ask your clients to be very gentle when you hand them the heart rate monitor and FSM electrodes — especially the heart rate monitor.

5. ACTION — To ensure that ozonated steam doesn’t escape into the client’s face, place aneck blanket over the client’s head and secure it around their neck. If the client finds theneck blanket to be uncomfortable, you can secure a large towel(s) around the client’sneck. (see page 11, “Inhalation of Ozone”).

6. ACTION — Place the oxygen breathing apparatus around the client’s neck — check thatthe humidifier bottle has the correct level of distilled water.

7. CHECK — Make sure the airflow from the oxygen breathing apparatus is directed to thenose and mouth.

8. ACTION — Put the entertainment system on) if you have one, and this is requested bythe client).

9. ACTION — Turn on any ventilation fans, open doors and windows as necessary toensure air movement to disperse any small amounts of ozone that may have leaked intothe room between previous sessions.

10. IMPORTANT — Ask the client to notify you immediately if they need to get out! This maygive you enough time to turn off the HOCATT™, and get the client safely out of thechamber, without exposing them or the room to a large volume of Ozone when openingthe chamber doors.

™ SESSION

It is always best to start the client off on lower settings, and gradually build them up to higher temperatures. To make things easier for you, the HOCATT™ Plus comes with pre-set programs. Each program has a total of 10 sessions — these sessions have pre-programmed settings where the parameters (such as temperature, ozone concentration, etc.) are gradually increased from session 1 through to session 10. All 10 sessions should be completed in a timely fashion, at least 2-3 sessions a week, as these sessions build up the effects and gradu-ally condition the client’s body.

In the Main Menu, select “Program Options”. On the “Program Options” screen you will see 4 options: Detoxification, Skin, O2 Herbal, and a short-cut to the auxiliary options. Select the desired option, e.g. “Detoxificaton”.

The “Detoxification” program is the standard program recommended for new clients. Those with sensitive skni can bgin with the “skin” program, which starts of with much lower tempera-tures and ozone concentrations. After successfully completing the 10 sessoins n the “Skin” program, they can move on to the “Detox” program. The “O2 Herbal” program is for those who want to have a “regular” sauna session (i.e. without Ozone and CO2). This can be an option if both ozone and CO2 is contraindicated (See page 3).

Now you will see that there are 10 pre-set sessions, and the client is advised to complete all 10 sessions for maximum bene-fit. Start the client on “Ses 1”.

Once you have selected the session number, you can go ahead and press “start”. Remember that you can adjust any parameter prior to starting the session, as well as throughout the session (i.e. change the temperature if the client gets too hot / cold.)

The default settings for the temperature and ozone levels are set at recommended levels for persons with no special medical or physical conditions. These levels are based on the norm in the industry, and should be applicable for the majority of individuals.

The rule in using the HOCATT™ is to start low and go slow! Start off with a lower intensity, lower ozone concentration, lower temperature, less CO2 time, etc.and then increase the parameters gradually over the client’s successive sessions.

You can change the parameters before the session, as well as at any time during the session. You can also pause the session at any point, should the client wish it.

Always keep in mind that client satisfaction is the most important thing, and if at any time the client feels the temperature is too high / low then you can decrease / increase the temperature. In some situations, in order to decrease the temperature rapidly, you can pause the session and crack open the chamber door for a few seconds. Be sure no to inhale any of the ozonated steam, and also protect the client’s face from the steam so that they do not inhale it either, e.g. you could cover their face with the neck blanket / towel while the door is cracked open.

CO2 Screen Settings:

In the main menu, select “Control Screen”.

On the contraol screen, select “C/A Setup” to set the CO2 time and temperature.

Session Time: 3 (Default) — 8 minutes (Maximum)

Note: Start off at 3 minutes and gradually build the client up to longer periods of CO2. The number of minutes set for CO2 is subtracted from the total time displayed on the control screen, i.e. if the time on the control screen is set to 30 minutes, and you set the CO2 for 3 minutes, then there will be 27 minutes left for the session after the 3 mnutes of CO2.

Temperature: 37 (default) — 42˚C

Note: High temperatures can cause discomfort and irritability, but it is recommended to increase the heart rate. Always work within your client’s comfort levels.

After the CO2 is finished, the remained of the session may feel 2-3˚C warmer than it actually is because the CO2 tends to alter our skins’ perception of temperature. This is especially noticable when doinig longer periods of CO2. Therefore, you should set the CO2 temperature 2-3˚C warmer than the temperature on the control screen (For the Ozone), e.g. if you set the control screen temperature to 37˚C, then you should set the CO2 temperature to 39-40˚C.

IMPORTANT: For hypotensive clients keep the temperature <38˚C, and set the CO2 time to ZERO minutes so that they do NOT receve Carbonic Acid, as it may cause the blood pressure to drop TOO low and may result in dizziness or even fainting.

Ozone Screen Settings:

Select “O3 screen” to return to the control screen, and set the following parameters for the transdermal Ozone:

Session Time: 20 — 30 (default) Minutes

Temperature: 37 (default) - 42ºC

INote: High temperatures can cause discomfort and irritability, but it is recommended to increase the heart rate. Always work within your client’s comfort levels.

Steam: 100%

Note: The steam should remain at 100%, as it regulates the rate of the temperature increase.

Ozone: 50 (default) — 100%

Note: It is recommended that you start the client at 50% for both Ozone 1 & 2, and then very gradu-ally increase both percentages as the client gets used to the ozone over several sessions. When using Ozone 2 for auxiliary applications (i.e. cupping), then the Ozone 2 can be increased / decreased per application.

IMPORTANT: Ozone can stimulate a detox reaction in the body, but a higher dose without gradual conditioning may cause an extreme detox reaction (aka “herxheimer” reaction) which could result in u-like symptoms, mucous membrane irritation, and / or very itchy rash on the forearms or upper body. It is recommended to stay within the prescribed parameters for optimum eect and to prevent irritation.

HRM: 120 bpm (default) — please see page 5 for heart rate limit safety precautions.

FIR: On (default) — if the client does not want to do FIR, you will only be able to de-select it once the session has started.

To adjust the intensity of the FIR, locate the FIR dial behind the HOCATT™ chamber, and turn the dal ant-clockwise to decrease the intensity, or turn the dial clockwise to increase the intensity (NOTE: The default inten-sity setting is to leave the dial pointing in the middle — you may find that in the summer the FIR makes it a bit too hot for the client around the back and feet, while in the winter those areas may not be warm enough. So you may adjust the FIR intensity depending on the seasonality / weather to suit your needs).

FSM: None Selected (default) — please see instructions (next page) on how to select and FSM Program.

The FSM program that you choose will cycle through various frequencies at different strengths. You can use the foot-plates or handheld electrodes, or both at the same time.

We recommend doing a FSM program during a HOCATT™ sauna session. However, the FSM can also be administered outside of a sauna session for a longer period of time as a stand-alone modality — please see page 26 for those instructions.

During a sauna session, the cycle time for each frequency is set to 1 minute, i.e. a program with 14 frequencies will take 14 minutes to complete, and a program with 28 frequencies take 28 minutes, etc. Because the sauna session is 30 minutes long, some FSM programs may finish before the sauna session ends. The client may elect to repeat the program, or to do a second FSM program for the remainder of their HOCATT™ session, which you can then select for them.

Choosing an FSM Program during a HOCATT™ Session:

1. When the client is sitting comfortably inside the chamber, instruct them to place theirfeet on the metal foot-plates, and carefully pass the FSM Electrodes to the clientunderneath the neck blanket (Note: Do NOT let the client tug on the cables — makesure that the cables have some slack after passing the electrodes to the client).

2. In the control screen, select “electrotherapy”, then select “input program number”.

3. Use the FSM Program List to find the desired program number.

4. Enter the program number, then select “OK”.

5. You will be returned to the control screen. The FSM will start when you start the saunasession.

6. If at any point during the HOCATT™ session the client wants to stop the FSM and thencontinue it later, you can select “FSM” and press the “Pause” button. Press the “Play”button to resume the FMS.

7. Adjust the intensity* of the frequencies by turning the dial behind the HOCATT™chamber.

*Every frequency has a different intensity — while the first frequen-cy might feel comfortable to the client, further on into the sessionanother frequency may feel too intense for them. You can eitheradjust the intensity throughout the session (which can becometedious, as the frequencies change every minute), OR you can dothe following:Before startng the sesson, let the client hold the FSM electrodes. From the Main Menu, select “Electrotherapy”, and set the “cycle time” to 0 minutes and press “start”. It will quickly run through all the frequencies in the program. The client can then tell you to increase or decrease the overall intensity.

We recommend cupping during a sauna session. However, cupping can also be administered outside of a sauna as a standalone modalty — please see page 31 for those instructions.

Administering Cupping During a HOCATT™ Session:

1. Before starting the session, attach one of the glass funnels, or a set of breast cups, tothe Ozone 2 tube inside the chamber (Note: The Ozone 2 [Auxiliary] tube is locatedbehind the right calf when sittng in the chamber).

2. Set the Ozone 2 flow meter (behind the chamber) to 50 — 100 ml/min.3. When the client is sitting comfortably inside the chamber, start the session and ask them

to ensure that their skin is wet from the steam before placing the funnel on their area ofconcern, or if using breast cups to place the cups on the breasts. The funnel or cupsshould form a seal over the desired area (Note: The client does not need to fit the wholebreast into the breast cup, as long as the cup covers the area of concern on the breast).

The client may do cupping for as long as they are comfortable throughout the session.

U We recommend that do the VI during a sauna session. However, VI can also be done outside of a sauna session as a standalone modality — please see page 32 for those instructions.

Vaginal Insufflation During a HOCATT™ Session:

1. Before starting the session, attach a NEW catheter to the Ozone 2 tube inside thechamber (Note: The Ozone 2 [Auxiliary] tube is located behind the right calf when sittingin the chamber.

2. Set the Ozone 2 flow meter (behind the chamber) to 100ml/min.3. When the client is sitting comfortably inside the chamber, ask them to insert the catheter

about 5cm into the vagina.4. As the flow rate is set to 100ml/min it means that for each minute of the VI, the client will

receive 100ml of ozone, i.e. 1 minute — 100ml ozone, 2 minutes = 200ml ozone,3 minutes = 300ml ozone, etc.

5. Start the session (Note: Tell the client that if at any point during the VI it becomesuncomfortable, they must remove the catheter).

The client can leave the catheter in for as long as they are comfortable — a recommended time is 5 — 7 minutes. The client can even leave it in for the entire session, or take it in and out throughout the session as is comfortable because any excess ozone will automatically flow back out.

™ SESSIONIMPORTANT — If the unit starts beeping (indicating there is not enough water), STOP the ses-sion immediately and add more distilled water. DO NOT let the unit run while the kettle is empty, as this may cause the element to burn out.

IMPORTANT — if any of the equipment malfunctions during a session, or if anything happens to the client during a session, press STOP immediately! Open the top chamber door slightly so that most of the steam escapes before fully opening the doors, then assist the client out of the cham-ber. In the case of an emergency, press STOP immediately, open the doors, and assist the client out of the chamber as quickly as possible. Avoid inhaling Ozone steam.

Throughout the session there should always be an attended present to aid the client.

The attendant should:

1. CHECK — make sure there are no ozone leakages around the neck.

2. CHECK — Make sure there is a fan or other means of keeping the client’s face cool.

3. CHECK — Ask the client to keep you informed of their needs, i.e. if they are thirsty, theattendant must provide water, if it is getting too hot the attendant should reduce thetemperature, etc. (Note: You can always, at any time, adjust the temperature or anyother parameter, according to the needs of the client).

4. ACTION — Mop the client’s face with tissue or paper towels when they sweat. If there isexcessive sweating, the attendant can also use the towel around the neck (if present).

5. IMPORTANT — Ensure that the heart rate limit for clients with known heart conditions, and elderly clients, is set to whatever limit is recommended by their cardologist. Thisway, the entire session will automatically shut down if the client’s heart rate exceedstheir limit. Keep an eye on their heart rate throughout the session.

6. IMPORTANT — If the client feels uneasiness due to the temperature being too high, lower the temperature and / or open the chamber doors for a few seconds, and theyshould feel much better.

7. ACTION — If the client is claustrophobic, tell them that the chamber is completely undertheir control. The doors do not lock, and they can ask you to stop the session at anytime to help them out of the chamber if they feel uncomfortable.

8. IMPORTANT — Ask the client to notify you immediately if they want to get out! This maygive you enough time to turn off the HOCATT™, and get the client safely out of thechamber, without exposing them or the room to a large volume of ozone when openingthe chamber doors.

9. IMPORTANT — if there is any dizziness or light-headedness, stop the session and thenopen the top chamber door slightly so that most of the steam escapes before fullyopening the doors. Ask the client to lower their head down between the knees for a fewminutes. Once they are feeling better, you should let them lie down for 10 — 15 minutes.

This is for people who are physically able to handle higher heart rates. By doing seated exer-cises inside the chamber, the heart rate can be pushed above 150 beats/min for increased calorie burning.

Exercise - hold each position for 10 seconds:

- Straighten and arch the back out, curl and pull back, relax, repeat.- Tighten the stomach muscles, relax, repeat.- Bring legs up towards chest, relax, repeat.- Lift legs an inch off the ground, relax, repeat.- Open the legs wide and resist with arms by pushing legs back with hands placed on the

thighs.- Stretch arms out as far as you can reach and touch the chamber doors with the inside of

the palms flattened against the doors, relax, repeat.

Each time the client has a session, it is important to remind them that they should:

- Clean out their intestines and colon (If they have not already done so) — see “Preparingthe client” #3, Page 14.

- Not shower for at least 2 — 7 hours after a session, as there are still “ozonemessengers” (LOPs) present on the skin for some time after the session.

- Drink at least 16 ounces (500ml) of water every 2 hours throughout the day during thedetox period.

- Drink an 8 ounce (250ml) glass of lukewarm water with ½ squeezed lemon as soon asthey wake up in the morning (at least ½ an hour before eating / drinking anything else). This helps to alkalize the body.

- Take 1000mg or more liposomal Vitamin C around 1 — 2 hours after each session.Vitamin C is a great way to support your immune system and enhance the detox effectsof the HOCATT™.

1. ACTION — sk the client to wrap him / herself up using their towel.

2. ACTION — Remove the oxygen breathing apparatus and neck blanket and / or towels.

3. ACTION — If the client is wearing a heart rate monitor, ask them to remove it from theirfinger and CAREFULLY pass it back to you through the opening at the top of the chamber, the same for the FSM electrodes (if used). If the client did VI or cupping, they can leave thecatheter or cup(s) on the seat next to them.

4. ACTION — Open the chamber doors and ask the client to hold onto your hand while youassist them with exiting the chamber (this also ensures that they do not put stress on thedoor hinges). Tell the client to watch his / her step, as the chamber is slightly raised abovethe ground (due to the wheels).

5. ACTION — Help the client to a nearby bed or chair (as their muscles will be very relaxed) andallow them to rest and collect themselves for 10 — 15 minutes whilst drinking 35 ounces (1litre) of rehydration water, before they go to put their clothes back on.

2

1. When you have finished with your last client for the day, close the valve on the CO2 cylinder.2. Go to the Control Screen and select “C/A Setup”.3. Press “start” and wait around 10-15 seconds for the pressure gauge on the CO2 cylinder to

drop to zero.4. Press “stop”. You can now switch off the HOCATT™ at the back of the chamber.5. Switch off the Oxygen Concentrator.6. Unplug the CO2 Regulator from the wall, and switch off the main power supply.

Review the client: You may decide that the HOCATT™ has done its primary job and reduce the sessions to 2 x a week for a month, and then down to 1 x a week for a further 2 months. Clients who wish to stop their sessions should be encouraged to return at least once every 3 — 6 months for another 10 sessions to re-oxygenate and detox their bodies.

You can continue to gradually increase the temperature and % ozone as the client’s body becomes used to the sessions (remember to always work within the client’s comfort levels). You can also introduce an FSM program, VI, Cupping, and essential oil infusions to address the specific needs of the client (if they have not been doing so already).

We recommend using an FSM program during a HOCATT™ sauna session — please see page 25 for those instructions. However, it can also be used outside of the chamber.

Choosing an FSM Program (Without a Sauna Session):

1. In the Main Menu, select “Electrotherapy”. Use the FSM Program List to find theprogram number for your client.

2. Select “input program number” and enter your desired program number.

Total Time: The total time of the entire FSM session.

Cycle Time: Indicates the length of each frequency in the selected program.

Cycle: Indicates how far along the session has progressed via the top number (current frequency). The bottom number indicates the total number of frequencies in the selected program.

If the program you select has 24 frequencies, and the cycle time is set for 3 minutes, then the entire FSM session will last 72 minutes (Note: You can lower the total length of the session by decreasing the cycle time. To do this, tap on the time and use the + / - buttons to increase or decrease the cycle time to your liking).

3. Press “Start”.

4. Adjust the intensity of the frequencies by adjusting the dial atthe back of the HOCATT™ chamber.

IMPORTANT — Each frequency has a different intensity, so while the client may start off com-fortable, a later frequency may feel too intense for them. The client can sit near to the FSM dial and adjust the intensity themselves, or if they sit in the chamber to make use of the footplates, you can either adjust the intensity for the client throughout the session (which can become tedious), OR you can do the following:

Before starting the session, set the “cycle time” to 0 minutes and press “start”. It will quickly run through all the frequencies in the program. The client can then tell you to increase or decrease the overall intensity. Now you can set the “cycle time” at the desired number of minutes per frequency (e.g. 3-minutes) and start the actual session.
