Hoffer’s Tropic Life Pets

Introduction: After our lesson on sea animals,
we will go on our field trip to Hoffer’s Tropic Life Pets.

Objectives Students will learn and observe tropical
and other animals Students will learn about the
environments of different species of fish and other animals
Outcomes
• Students will understand the different environments of fish and other animals
•Students will create a model different fish and their environment

Cost and Transportation For 25 students= $50 For every student after you pay $2 Total cost would be $80 For every 8 kids we need one adult
chaperone for a total of 5 chaperone
One School bus costing $150-$200
This field trip would create a experience that is hands on or kinesthetic, visual and auditory learners. Students will be see animals they do not normally see and interact with them in a controlled environment. This pet store tries to place the animals in an environment that is most like their natural environment. This will help students to visualize the specific features of their natural habitat.
Checklist for Assessment: At Field trip:
Students are actively engaged and asking questions
Students are interacting with the animals as much as allowed
In the Classroom: Students will demonstrate their knowledge and
understanding of different fish when they create a model of the fish and their environment
Students will also write a reflection of what they have learn and saw during the field trip.
