PRODUCT INFORMATION

Hoffman Cable Ties and Mounts are designed to rigid specifications to insurea strong secure bundling system. The products are resistant to shock, vibra-tion, petrochemicals, and environmental extremes. Our unique moistureretention bag material maintains the quality of the product to assure that itdoes not dry out and become subject to breakage. Ties and mounts are avail-able in natural, weather resistant, and heat stabilized.

Special colors are also available: red, blue, yellow, green and black. Hoffmanmaintains a large inventory of ties and mounts to meet your immediateneeds.

Technical Information

Bundle Diameter: The maximum and minimum bundle diameters are the size and extremes inwhich a cable tie will function properly.

Minimum Loop Tensile Strength: Minimum loop tensile strength is an important performance characteristic. Itis the minimum amount of force expressed in pounds that is required tocause the assembled tie to fail and /or cease to perform its function. It ismeasured by assembling a tie around two split mandrels that are appropri-ately sized for the particular tie and separated at a speed of one inch perminute until the tie fails. High tensile strength ties are needed for big andheavy loads while lower tensile strength ties are used for small to mediumand light loads.

Material Specifications:Cable ties are manufactured from type 6/6 nylon. This polymer is noted forits toughness, impact strength, resistance to abrasion and chemicals andversatility in a variety of product applications. Type 6/6 Nylon meets theUL94V-2 flammability rating which states that when ignited the nylon willextinguish itself when the flame is removed. It is available in 3 types.

Natural Ties: Used for indoor applications. Temperature range is -40°F - +185°F

Weather Resistant: The addition of carbon provides a greater resistance to ultraviolet light.Temperature range -40°F - +185°F

Heat Stabilized:For use in higher temperature applications. Temperature range is -40°F - +231°F

Special Moisture Resistant Packaging: Nylon is a hygroscopic material that absorbs and desorbs moisture. Its appli-cation performance is therefore dependent upon fluctuations in the moisturelevel of the environment. Hoffman's special packaging insures that ties andmounts will operate at optimal performance. Bags should not be openedprior to actual application.

Hoffman cable ties are quality product designed to provide optional applicationeither by hand or tool. These self adjusting, self locking ties provide a permanentharness.

Cable ties are a one-piece molded mechanism with no metal barbs. They combineoutstanding physical properties such as light weight, abrasion resistance, tough-ness, high tensile strength, exceptional dielectric properties, resilience to com-mon solvents, alkalies, dilute acids, oils and greases.

Cable Tie Gun

CTG100 Our metal cable tie gun is lightweight and designed to secure thetie to the bundle when the preset tension is met and cut off theremainder of the tie, flush with the locking tab.

To operate, thread the cable tie snugly around the cable assem-bly, insert the tie end in the gun and pull the trigger. The toolautomatically adjusts to the preset tension, cuts the cable tieflush and rejects the cut off portion without any sharp edges.
