Short history

Holcim Romania currently owns and operates 2 cement plants, 2 cement terminals, 16 environment friendly concrete plants, 5 aggregates plants and 2 special binders plants staffed by approximately 1,400 employees of the company.

In 2007, Holcim celebrated 10 years of operations in Romania, a period of continuous expansion countrywide:

Sustainable development is a priority within the long-term strategy of our company. Through the projects we are implementing, we intend to contribute to reducing emissions, co-process waste in order to protect natural resources and deliver environment friendly products to our customers.

Holcim is a promoter of the basic principle of Sustainable Development, which is to

secure the needs of the present without compromising the future generations’ chances to secure their own needs. The introduction of the concept of Environment Friendly Concrete Plants, a premiere for Romania, in 2001, was a first step that Holcim took on this path within the concrete segment.

The technology we use is fully compliant with the highest standards in environment care

and allows us to eliminate dust and noise emissions, recycle fresh concrete waste and reuse wastewaters.

The environment friendly concrete plants, designed and built on the latest technologies, allow us to achieve superior performance in terms of productivity, quality control and consistency, compliance with environmental and occupational health and safety standards.

Concrete Dispatch Service (phone no. 021 203 9116) that also provides information about

deliveries, pump availability and possible changes in the delivery schedule

• Permanently monitors concrete mixers with a GPS-based system, allowing you to know where

the mixer is and when it will arrive to the site.

Concrete is produced by Holcim in fully automated and highly efficient environment friendly concrete plants and delivered on site.

Through its network of concrete plants, Holcim can deliver a wide range of certified products:

• Concrete: C 8/10 – C 70/80

• Ballast stabilized with hydraulic binders: BLH 4%, BLH 5%, BLH 6% - available only in certain

concrete plants

• Stabilized aggregates: available only in certain concrete plants

• Floor screeds: S300, S600
