The VenueThe Parador de Nerja is an ideal conference venue in the south of Spain, offering exceptional conference facilities as well as stunning views, all in the traditional Spanish town of Nerja, which has a range of excursions available for delegates during free time. The photo below (left) shows the views from where all coffee breaks are held, a perfect setting for networking at the conference.

The ConferenceThe conference room is air-conditioned and easy to locate within the hotel. All delegates have the chance to network during free time, group meal times, excursions, the poster session and of course, the Gala Night. Stewart, our AV Technician Is at the front of the room, ready to wire up the next speaker as the preceding talk finishes. The Zing Staff are on site at all times to assist delegates in any way possible.

Poster SessionEach conference has a poster session which the students really look forward to, to share their work with their peers. We usually advertise a poster prize, either from a sponsor or a cash prize from the budget. The winner is then selected by the chairs and awarded at the Gala Night. Photographed (right) is the winner at the Lysosomes Related Organelles Conference, with the chairs.

Gala NightThe Gala Night is on the final night of the conference. We had Spanish Guitarists performing throughout the evening for our 2014 meetings in Nerja. An entirely different and delicious menu is organised for the Gala Night, that along with the entertainment creates a great atmosphere for people to network, in a fun & relaxed environment.

Town of NerjaNerja, on the Costa del Sol, is a beautiful resort of sandy coves sheltered by the impressive Sierra de Almijara mountains and often referred to as 'The Jewel of the Costa del Sol'.

A temperate climate means that Nerja is a great place to visit at any time of year. In February 2014 it was around 17ºC.

Nerja is located 53 kilometres east of Málaga on the Costa del Sol and can be reached in about 40 minutes by car from Málaga airport.
