  • Holi unites us all breaking the barriers of culture, language and even

    religion. The sky is sprayed with vibrant colors, spreading joy and

    peace over the air. The festival of colors is celebrated on the day of full

    moon in the early March, while the earth starts to get warm after a cold

    and dull climate. Therefore, Holi remarks the beginning of a

    prosperous season. Speaking of colors, it is not just about splashing

    colored water and spraying powders, the food is also of vibrant colors

    and taste on Holi, making the festival even better. Holi is getting

    closer, so make sure your Holi is more colorful this year and try out

    some of these amazing dishes from all around India this year.

  • Aloo Poori Aloo poori is one of the best Punjabi foods. Puffed poor is served with spicy hot potato

    curry, making each crunch a wonderful experience. The aloo sabzy is composed of

    potatoes, finely chopped onions, ginger, tomatoes, green chillies.

  • Puran Poli Puran poli is a very popular dish from Maharashtra, which is made on religious

    festivals, especially during the time of holi. In marathi, puran poli means bread filled

    with sweet. In addition to this, it is served with shrikand, another sweet made from

    yogurt. For the puran poli, fillings are made from sweetened.

  • Thandai Thandai is one of the most popular drinks in north india, Thandai dry fruits and other

    sweet elements mixed with boiled milk. Thandai is prepared during Maha Shivaratri as

    time.

  • Shakkar para Shakkar para is a crunchy snack having a wide popularity in north India. Even though

    they are commercially available, they are made in homes during the festival of colors.

    Shakkar para is made out of maida and semolina flour which is coated with sugar syrup,

    delivering a sweet taste that goes best with tea or coffee.

  • Gujjias Gujjias are a must have during holi. It is a tradition in north India to gift friends and

    relatives with Gujjias during the time of Holi. These small samosas are filled with milk

    cream rich in melon seeds, dryfruits, almonds and coconut; making them a mouth

    watering dish.

  • Khichdi Khichdi is made by the people of Gujarath during festive seasons. Khichdi is probably

    the best dish anyone can cook out of rice, making it a popular one. It also has medicinal

    values and the sick people are often served with Moong dal Khichdi.

  • Kanji vada It is obvious that people will be consumed with a large amount of sweets on festivals,

    especially holi. Kanji vada is a drink popular on Rajasthan which helps you with your

    digestion. Crispy vadas are soaked in spicy Kanji flavoured with mustard. Kanji vada is

    easy to make also.

  • Palak Bhajia They are crispy snacks mae of fresh spinach leaves and spices. Palak Bhajia is for the

    spice lovers, served with the spiciest green chilley chutney and chaat masala. These are

    good for your health also. So Palak Bhajia is a healthy dish choice for this holi.

  • Dahi Bhalla Like any other festival, Holi is also incomplete without Dahi Bhalla, one of the best

    dish offered by delhi. Each bite of Dahi Bhalla leaves you wanting more. The speciality

    of Dahi Bhalla is the diverse ingredients used in the making. A variety of spices are

    powdered over this delicious dish.

  • Ram ladoo Unlike many other sweet ladoos, Ram ladoos are not sweet. Instead, they are fried dal

    balls served with kanji. Main ingredients are dhuli moong dal and dhuli urad dal along

    with cumin seeds, chopped green chillies and fresh coriander leaves.

  • Namak pare They are fried savory flour crispies made during Holi. It can be made from both wheat

    flour and maida. When served with, anyone wil keep eating Namak pare until the plate

    goes empty. They are easily made and can be served along tea.

  • Anarsa Anarsa is a snack popular on Maharashtra and central India. They are much like

    pastries offering a delicious taste. Anarsa is made out of rice and jiggery with milk and

    is stuffed with fresh split pigeon peas and paste.

  • Bhang Ki Thandai Bhang Ki Thandai is a drink made from milk and cannabis paste having popularity in

    Uttarpradhesh. A handful of dry ingredients are also made use in the preparartion of

    Bhang Ki Thandai which is having a religious importance. The cannabis leaves are

    made into a pulp followed by the addition of water and sugar.

  • Malpua Malpua is an absolutely delicious dessert or sometimes served as snacks. It is also one

    of the special holi dishes in the north India. Malpua is often served with milk and fresh

    vegetables as the topping.

  • Sweet Kachoris Sweet kachoris is a famous food item in Agra. The dish is as sweet as the name. They

    are so soft that when put into mouth, it gets melted, flavoring the sweetness all over the

    mouth. Small kids can effortlessly enjoy this great appetite since it is very soft.

  • Papdi Papdi means lick in Hindi. And it is exactly how this snack should be enjoyed. It

    is a spicy dish available throughout north India comprising of maida along with a

    wide range of vegetables. Like the Holi, Papri is colorful to see also.
