From Our Pastor As we head into the

holiday months of November

and December we will be

focusing on two important themes

as we worship together and spend time in

God’s Word.

In November we will be focusing our

attention on Balance. The dictionary denes

balance as “a state of equilibrium; equal

distribution of weight; equality between

the totals of the two sides of an account; to

be equal or proportionate to.” When the

chemicals in our body are out of balance

we become sick. When we lose our balance

we fall down. When our tivres are out of

balance we have a bumpy ride. And when

our nances don’t balance...we’re in trouble.

Life is all about balance. Unfortunately, mostof us live unbalanced lives. That’s why we

have entitled our 2011 Stewardship Emphasis

“Balanced” because it is our desire to help

you live a more balanced life by properly

managing your time, your talents, and your

treasures. I can promise this. When your

life is in balance, everything is better. So

prepare to make some necessary changes

and discover that life is better when it’s in

balance!

In December we will turn our attention

to Coming Home for Christmas. When ourfamily lived in Florida, one of our “traditions”

was to come home to Hartsville, South

Carolina every Christmas. It was the time

that we gathered with our family, had fun

and loved on one another. Well the Bible tells

us the church is God’s family. In Ephesians

2:19 we are told, “You are members of God’s

very own family, and you belong in God’s

household with every other Christian” (TLB).

Unfortunately many, who are a part of our

church family, never “come home” to church.

Out of a membership of over 3000, we onlyhave 1000 here on any given Sunday. I don’t

think our “Father” would be very happy.

So this Christmas, we are making an effort

to bring back families who have not been

“home” in a while. If you’re one of those

family members, don’t you think it’s time to

come home?

Excited about the Holidays,

Pastor Rocky

Have you been by our Lexington property lately? If not, you really need to! We have agoing on. Here’s a quick update:

First, the construction documents are completed and are out for the nal bid. By the time

you read this we should have our guaranteed maximum price from our General Contra

(We pray that it is $100,000 below our budget!). Our Future Development Team has

completed our budget, and all the steps required prior to receiving our ofcial building

permit have been completed as well.

In addition, we do have our foundation permit and RJG is presently installing foundatio

SCE&G has installed the underground conduit for our parking lighting, and we will

be laying the gravel base down on the parking pads and entry drive soon. Things are

denitely moving along. And in the midst of it all, we need your prayers! Please pray th

we’ll be salt and light to all the contractors and subcontractors who will be working at t

property these coming months. Pray that the Truth of God’s love will be shared within ev

interaction and encounter, and that we never lose focus----that this project is not about b

and mortar, but always about reaching people for Jesus Christ.

What’s Going On?
