Caterpillar to Butterfly Scarf or CowlHumble garter stitch will morph before your very eyes into a graceful fashion piece. Planned dropped stitches create the fabric. You'll feel like you are watching a butterfly emerging from its cocoon when you let the stitches drop all the way down to the cast on. Kate has worked through all the technical details of how best to cast on and cast off so that your project will look polished. Choose the scarf version or the moebius cowl version. Felted Yarn BowlWant an unbreakable, light-weight yarn bowl that conveniently squishes to fit in your project bag? Susan has created a pattern for a knitted and felted yarn bowl that will do just that. You’ll begin on double pointed needles at the center bottom of the bowl. Then you’ll work on circular needles to create the bowl shape. After the bowl is felted down in the washing machine, you’ll cut the slot to guide your knitting yarn for smooth knitting.

JulenisseThe Julenisse is a traditional Danish Christmas folklore character. Heidi’s Julenisse has hands in his pockets and an impish little face. He looks like he’s planning a bit of mischief. He’s very easy to knit. Savvy knitters will notice that his head is a sock toe and his clothes are created by simple color changes. A bit of embroidery creates the illusion of pants and sleeves.

WillowBrioche knitting is a special kind of ribbed fabric that creates a spongy, open texture. We’ll spend the first part of class getting to know brioche basics. After we get comfortable with the basic fabric, we’ll move on to the beautiful Willow design on the cover of Nancy Marchant’s book, Fresh Knitted Brioche. This scarf / shawl uses increases and decreases to morph the basic brioche fabric into a graceful, leafy design.

Felted ClogsClogs are knit XXXL size in wool and then run through the wash machine to shrink the wool into a tight, firm fabric. Susan will share her tips and tricks to help you keep track of the wrap and turns and increases that create the clog shaping. There are size options for every family member. Every new pair that Susan creates has a new element of creativity. She'll show you how to use needle felting to add a name, a flower, a soccer ball, a snowman, snowflake, or whatever embellishment you want.
