Fall/Winter 2016 What a beautiful time of year! As I write this we have just had our 1st frost and we have been enjoying the clear blue fall days. The perennials in the greenhouse have all been cut back and put to bed for the winter while Toby and Rusty have begun cutting back the gardens and getting them ready for their winter nap. Be sure to get out in your gardens soon and cut any interesting seed pods to use in your fall decorating. Not sure what to say about this summer—hot and dry pretty much sums it up! The Garden Barn is beginning its transformation to the Christmas Barn in time for our Holiday Magic Open House, Nov. 12th & 13th. But, in the mean time, we have a fun selection of Halloween decorations and the Q Boutique is full of fall sweaters, wraps and scarves. Christmas lunches in the Farmhouse begin Nov 29th. We are taking reservations now. We enjoyed seeing many old friends, and making new ones during this spring and summer planting season. Remember us this holiday season. We have wonderful things to peak your imagination in gift giving and your inside and outside decorating and entertaining.

Marsha’s Fabulous Caramel Apple Slices Perfect for apple season!

Use 1 can of sweetened condensed milk. Remove label and do not open can. Place in sauce pan, cover with water, and boil slowly for 3 hours. Be sure to keep adding water to keep can completely covered. Remove from heat and place unopened can in refrigerator to cool. When ready to serve, put caramelized milk, in a dish, add a scoop of marshmallow cream and mix. Cut apple, unpeeled, into eigthts (squeeze lemons over slices to keep apples from turning brown). Serve on a tray or plate with caramel sauce in center. Enjoy ! No calories!!
