Realistic REALISTIC: Practical Doers

• People with mechanical and athletic abilities • Like working outdoors with tools and objects • Prefer dealing with things rather than people

Examples : Fix machines. Repair electronic equipment .

Environments : Sites , Factories, Car repair garages

Value : Money , power and status.

INVESTIGATIVE Scientific Problem Solvers

• People with math and science abilities • Like working alone and solving complex problems • Like dealing with ideas rather than people

Examples: Computer programmer, physician, science teacher, mathematician ,research manager.

Enjoys: Puzzles , solving math ad science problems, all physical sciences

Do not enjoy : supervising

Creative Communicators • People with artistic ability and imagination • Enjoy creating original work • Like dealing with ideas rather than things Examples: fine artists, musicians, freelance

writers Like : Free way, unsystematic, create music,

art, writing, singing, poetry. Dislike: Technical writing

SOCIAL Empathic Helpers • People with social skills • Interested in social relationships and helping others

solve problems • Likes dealing with people rather than things Examples: School teacher, marriage counselor,

psychologist, special education teacher. Values : kindness, generosity, friendliness, idealism Like: teaching, helping people, solve through

discussions. Dislike : working with machines.

ENTERPRISING Active Persuaders • People with leadership and speaking abilities • Like to be influential • Interested in politics and economics • Like to deal with people and ideas rather than things Examples: Sales work, buying, business management,

politics, real estate, stock market, insurance. Value : power, status, wealth. Like : persuading others, leading , assertive, popularity,

lead positions.

1. Scroll down to Holland's Hexagon where it says, "Assess Yourself." 

2. Click on Begin Assessment. 

3. Click Quick Assessment.

4. Then, three windows appear.  Select from Holland's Hexagon in the order of most importance.  Window 1.  Window 2.  Window 3.  The most important goes first. 

5. After completing this task, proceed to click on:  View Results.  

6.  Lettered scoring will appear.  For example, SAI.   (Social Artistic Investigative).
