The Script

We were given the script from the Hollyoaks trailer and were asked to each play a role in the video. Here I have written the names next to the charac-ters which they will play: Alex-Paul Harriet-Mercedes Me-Jacqui Sam-Rhys Beth-Riley

The script which we were given had the dialogue in bold so that we would see our lines easily.

The other text was for the camera operator and director. These were so we knew which shot types to use and were used at certain points in the Hollyoaks trailer. There were also some stage directions in there for example, ‘Jacqui’s shocked reaction’.

At the top were a list of abbreviated shot types which were to be used in the filming process. Some had their full names next to them, for

the ones which didn’t I filled the names in. E.g. MCU: Medium Close Up.

The script was useful to the camera operator and director as they had a clear view of what should be going on at all times including what lines need to be said and where the camera and actors should be positioned. It also helped the actors with their lines and positioning with the stage directions.
