Lets face it there are some things that just arent worth paying for in a restaurant. Here's a list of menuitems that have us shouting: "lame!"
1. Can I have Iceberg wedge salad please???? : Wanna know how to make a hunk offlavorless lettuce even less appetizing? Charge $12 for it. This classic menu item is one ofthe biggest rip-offs in the restaurant game.
2. Can I have a Shrimp cocktail??? : Twenty dollars for four boiled shrimp? No thanks.
3. Can I have Bottled water???? : Still a favorite of germaphobes, snooty Europeans and diners desperate toimpress their date, bottled water is totes '80s. Unless you're dying to relive the Evian craze of '89, Maybe youshould just order tap.
4. Can I have a Plate of fruit ??? : Weve certainly seen some amazing fruit plates, but seriously, ordering this asyour main dish is a bit of a cop-out. Only in cases of sheer laziness or manorexia should a diner order a $7 plateof cut-up fruit for their entree.
5. Can I have Mixed greens?? : Ingenious menu idea: take greens direct from the package, put them on a plate, serve with a side of oil and vinegar and slap on an $8-plus price tag you're now a restaurateur!
6. Can I have some Cereal ??? :Ordering a bowl of cereal as your main course should be an immediateindication that you shouldnt be out at a restaurant. Go home!
7. Can I have Scrambled eggs please??? : We understand the hungover persons need for grease after an all-night bender, but scrambled eggs in a diner cost about four times more than if you were to just make 'em athome. Theres inevitably a much more worthwhile egg dish on every menu.
8. Can I have some Olives ???? : Dude, most places will give you olives for free! Unless the chef is doing
something crazy exciting with mixed olives (which we're having trouble imagining), as a rule of thumb it's kind ofdumb to shell out money on a gratis bar snack.

A few and few are used with plural nouns (cups, people, Tvs) ; a little and little, with uncountable ones(sugar, milk, time). If we leave out the a, it means that there is not enough of something; but if we kept it, it hasa
positive sense, ie there is/are not a lot, but enough for our own purposes. Examples: There are a few plums. Idont think we need to buy any today. There are few cherries; wed better go and buy some. Britain releases secret UFO recordsThe British government has released over 1,000 pages of secret
files on UFO sightings to the public. It is the first time records onflying saucers and other unexplained objects have been made
available. Britains National Archives put the documents online
following requests from members of the public. Britains freedom of information
laws meant the documented reports could no longer be kept a secret. Officials
said that the names of many individuals who claimed they saw UFOs have been
blacked out to respect their privacy. They also said that information that was
vital to protect national security would not be released. There is a lot of data
from the 1970s and 80s, when the Cold War was at its height. In these two
decades, Russian fighter planes were often mistaken for alien spacecraft.
The reports do not say what people mistook little green men for.
Despite the secrecy of the documents, none of them contains any proofthat
aliens exist. UFO expert David Clarke said: "The Ministry of Defense doesn't
have any evidence that our defenses were breached by alien craft. They never
found one, nor bits of one. There are a number of unexplained cases in the
reports, but those in the know said that there are usually logical explanations
for these sightings. "The most common things are aircraft lights, bright stars
and planets, satellitesand things like that," explained another UFO specialist,
Nick Pope. One of the documents is a 1979 report prepared for British
politicians that rubbished the idea of "UFOlogy. It stated that: Her Majesty'sgovernment has never been approached by people from outer space." There are
many people who disagree. The archive site is full of drawings and reports that
suggest we are not alone.

A few years ago Shenzhen was a small fishing village in the middle of
fields. Since then, it has become an enormous industrial city. Millions
of Chinese people have moved from the countryside to work in the
new factories. The factories in Shenzhen make clothes, toys, and
electronic goods for Western countries. One in every three pairs of
shoes in the world is made here.
The workers in Shenzhen come from all over China and they work
long hours for low pay, because life in the countryside is worse. The
workers dont live with their families; their homes are dormitories
where they live and sleep with the other factory workers.
Under Chinese law, people mustnt work more than eight hours a
day, they shouldnt do more than 40 hours extra work a week and
they must get more than $66 a month. However, the internationalhuman rights charity, Amnesty International, says workers often have
to work much longer hours and they are not paid enough money. The
charity also estimates that an average of 13 workers a day lose a
finger or an arm in an industrial accident.
