Presented by Atelier, a Delhi-based premier theater group,Woody Allen’s 1975 comedyplay “GOD” is directed byLalima Chhabra and AbhishekKumar and designed by KuljeetSingh. Set in an empty Greek amphithe-ater, this mad ‘play-within-a-play’ flits chaotically back andforth between ancient and mod-ern times. Writer Hepatitis andactor Diabetes struggle helpless-ly to find an ending for their play,as they waltz catastrophicallywith the omnipotent. The playskids along until the actor andthe writer reach the climax hav-ing found no answer to the ulti-mate question -whether there isa God!

However as the play comes fullcircle, the audience, along withthe characters in the play, reachthe same, ultimate, conclusion:there’s no end, nor beginning –Well, not in the least in anabsurd play!
