Dear Parishioners,
I do hope that you are still in “summer” mode, even though the month of July has passed and we are now into August.
Being in a reflective mood, I remembered that I have not followed up with any updated info about my trip to Kenya in February. If you remember, upon my return, I did a photo presentation at all the masses of Fr. Battista and his project “Divine Mercy Village in the Diocese of Machakos. The response in donations has been overwhelming, not only to me, but very much so to Fr. Battista. We collected $9,257.00 CDN, which I have forwarded to him and he intends to channel the money towards construction of three houses for the most needy families.Some of our parishioners have also purchased medical insurance for a few of the families there. Truly, your outpouring of monetary funds to this Project, has been awe-inspiring. Thank You!
On the same subject: Mark your calendars - April 13, 2018 - Italian Cultural Centre - for a fundraiser for Kenya’s Missions and the continued work of Father Battista. More info to come.
Another “Mark Your Calendar” is our Salmon BBQ - Sunday, September 17. More info to follow.
Last but not least, I would like to say warm welcome to our new Parish Administrative Assistant, Krys Bondi. I am very happy to welcome her as a new member of the Parish team!
