Don Senior completed another guided tour of Israel and Jordan with 36 people. St. Vincent Strambi is hosting a “Come and See” program on the last weekend in October for several vocation prospects from Chicago, Louisville, Birmingham and Nashville.     Christ the King has a new shed on the property. It will be used for a

    community carpenter shop and a green screen studio by Blaise Czaja.

    Welfen Xavier, Febin Barose, Rajan George, Ajesh Mathew and

    Vimal Backiyaraj profess Final Vows on Sunday, October 6, and will be ordained to the Diaconate on Monday, October 7.

    Congratulations to them and St. Thomas Vice Province!

    Holy Name Golf Tournament...

    The dedication of the CTU archives to Ken O’Malley has been finalized with a

    plaque honoring him.

    Holy Name Passionist Retreat Center’s 19th Annual Golf Tournament was held on Tuesday, September 24. The tournament was a huge success. raising $56,800 to benefit the scholarship fund and programs at the retreat center. One hundred twenty golfers enjoyed a warm, sunny day on the golf course. John Schork and Cedric Pisegna played, and Carl Hund and Joe Moons worked on the tournament. A barbecue dinner and auction topped off the big event.

    The School of Meditation...The Passionist Earth and Spirit Center’s School of Meditation is open! Joe Mitchell guided more than 120 Beginning Meditation students in an Orientation retreat on Saturday, September 21. The School of Meditation is a year-long program. Joe was also featured in the September 27 issue of the Louisville Courier-Journal about the meditation program at the Passionist Earth and Spirit Center.     Chicago Monastery Estate Sale...An estate sale was held at the Chicago monastery (Harlem Ave.), September 5-7. Xcentric Estate Sales handled the entire sale for us. It was a great success!!!

  • Farewell, not Good Bye...

    Family and friends of Fr. Clemente Barrón, CP and of Casa Pasionista Guadalupe, along with the Community of Passionist Partners of San Antonio gathered on Saturday, September 14, at the Oblate School of Theology, to say farewell to Clemente and to celebrate his 37 years of service in San Antonio. Don Webber, Sebastian MacDonald, Ken O’Malley and Alex Steinmiller attended. Sebastian and Alex previouisly served in San Antonio. Clemente arrived in Chicago on Sunday, September 22, to begin his new ministry as Spiritual Director at the Province Development Office.

    Welcoming everyone.

    Ricardo and Beatriz Riojas offered their van to Clemente in his move to Chicago.

    They drove Clem’s car and safely delivered it to him a few days later.

    More than 250 people gathered for one last chance to say farewell at the

    reception following Mass.

    Clemente’s grand-nieces and nephew did a great job with the readings and Prayers of the Faithful during Mass.

    Clemente with Benita Huerta, who was there when Clemente and Arthur Carrillo

    first arrived in San Antonio.

    The chapel was standing-room only.
