And you’ve got two legs,
You’re called to holiness!

With the growing concern for people's privacy it becomes increasingly
more and more difficult to know if our parishioners are sick, in the
hospital or even in Hospice care. If you know of someone or if you
would like for us to visit someone, please contact Deacon Mark
Sholander at (678) 466-1708 or [email protected].
At the conclusion of their missionary journey, Paul and Barnabas tell the Antioch community all that the Lord had
accomplished in their preaching the kingdom of God. This kingdom, to be marked by our love for each other, will reach its fulfillment
in new heavens and a new earth.
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated on Saturday, May 7 at the
9am Mass and at 1pm. All parishioners are welcome to attend either Mass.
Sunday Vigil Masses will be celebrated at their usual time: 4pm and 5:30pm.
Confessions will be heard only on Friday, May 6, at 5:30pm next weekend.
We Christians do not always reflect the image of Christ to the
people we encounter in our everyday lives. Today’s Gospel
from John 13:31-35, gives us the bottom-line on Christian
discipleship. “I give you a new commandment: love one
another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one
another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if
you have love for one another.”
The challenge in this passage is so huge that for many of us it is
easier to put it in the too hard basket and move on to lesser
challenges. What is Jesus asking us to do? He is asking us to
love everyone, even the Judases in our lives, with the same self-
lessness, understanding and forgiveness that he offers each and
every one of us every day. Try to imagine a world where Jesus’
new commandment is really practiced. St. John had a vision of
such a world in our second reading. Revelation 21:1-5A,
“Behold, God’s dwelling is with the human race. He will dwell
with them and they will be his people and God himself will
always be with them as their God. He will wipe every tear
from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning,
wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away.”
The last line of this reading from Revelation is “Behold, I make
all things new.” In 2nd Corinthians 5:17 St Paul says, “whoever
is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away;
behold, new things have come.” What God makes new is us.
We are new creations in Christ and as new creations we are
called to radiate the light of Christ that dwells in us to everyone
were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as
children of light, for light produce every kind of goodness
and righteousness and truth” (Eph 5:8-9).
This week let our prayer be that everyone we meet will see the
radiance of Christ shining through us and know that we are, in
fact, disciples of Jesus the Christ.
We pray that the power of
the resurrection of Jesus
may be seen among us:
in compassion, kindness and patience,
in the love that binds us together,
in the courage to forgive
and be forgiven.
We pray Our God,
for the world in which your Son
lived, died and was raised;
may the whole world
be made new in him,
to your praise and glory.
Amen

darnos incluso mientras vamos caminando.

Fifth Sunday of Easter
“Behold, your Mother” John 19:27
There will be a Consecration (or renewal of Consecration) to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Ceremony on SATURDAY, JUNE 4 at 10:00 AM, the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This will be a brief ceremony. Either an individual member of the parish, an entire family, ministry or group, may consecrate themselves to Our Blessed Mother. This holds much power spiritually. When we ask Mary to be our Mother by consecrating/entrusting ourselves to her, we place ourselves under Her care and protection, and allow her to embrace us even more closely. On June 4 there will be sheets of paper available for you to fill out with your name and/or the names of the people, ministry, or group that you wish to entrust to her. A binder will be placed
before the statue of our Blessed Mother in the sanctuary. During the consecration ceremony we will process forward to place our sheet of paper in the binder.
If you cannot be physically present and are joining us in spirit, you may email names of individuals, families, groups or ministries you wish to entrust to Our Blessed Mother, and they will be written in the binder for you. “Behold, your Mother” John 19:27
There will be a Consecration and/or Renewal of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Ceremony at 10am on Saturday, June 4, the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This will be a brief ceremony. Either an individual member of the church, or an entire family, minis-
try or group, may consecrate themselves to Our Blessed Mother. This holds much power spiritually. When we ask Mary to be our Mother by consecrating ourselves to Her, we place ourselves under Her care and protection, and allow Her to embrace us even more closely.
Consider using the book “33 Days to Morning Glory” to spiritu-ally prepare yourself to make this consecration. It is available in the vestibule for $5/each. The date to begin your 33 day prepara-tion would be Tuesday, May 3.
There are wonderful videos that will greatly enrich your 33 day preparation available to you for no cost through our parish sub-scription to FORMED. Go to www.formed.org and create an account by using our parish code 4Z22ME (all caps). Then go to “Programs” and scroll down to “Exploring the Catholic Faith” where you will find “33 Days to Morning Glory.” Click on that and enjoy! A digital copy of the book is there as well.
Consider forming a small group or gather your family and do this preparation together. You will be blessed!

The Paschal (Easter) Candle is a central symbol of the
light of the world, Jesus Christ. It is kept near the ambo
throughout the Easter Season and lit for all liturgical
celebrations. After Pentecost, this candle is only lit for
baptisms and funerals during the year.
Our Gospel Reading takes us back to Holy Thursday and
the Last Supper, where Jesus gave a ‘new commandment.’
“This is how all will know you for my disciples, your love for
one another.” John 17:35
