THE LIST OF CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY CAN REMIND US TO
LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS JESUS WANTS US TO:
CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY
TO FEED THE HUNGRY Help people who do not have enough to eat-Food Pantry or donation.
TO GIVE DRINK TO THE THIRSTY Help those who have not enough to drink-places where there is no clean water.
TO SHELTER THE HOMELESS Help people who have no place to live.
TO CLOTHE THE NAKED Help provide clothes for people who need them most.
TO VISIT THE SICK Spend time with those not feeling well-cheer them up-send a card-call them.
TO VISIT THOSE IN PRISON Write to those who we are not able to visit-visit if we can.
TO BURY THE DEAD Go to a wake, funeral Mass or service-if needed help with the expenses. Have a Mass offered.
SPIRITUAL WORKS OF MERCY
TO ADMONISH THE SINNER Tell someone in a nice way that they have done wrong. Have a listening ear and share the Lord’s commands.
TO INSTRUCT THE IGNORANT To teach someone who does not know. Help them see all the blessings of Christian life.
TO COUNSEL THE DOUBTFUL Give good advice to a person who is not sure what to do or believe-help them find the assistance they need.
TO COMFORT THE SORROWFUL To try to cheer someone who is sad or suffering.
TO BEAR WRONG PATIENTLY Try not to get upset about unjust things said or done.
Ask God’s help TO FORGIVE ALL INJURIES
Pardon those who hurt us. What would Jesus say or do. TO PRAY FOR THE LIVING AND THE DEAD
Remember to pray for all people-those we know and those who have no one.

For many of us experiencing bereavement that journey seems daunting: How do we get to that place? The healing process of mourning takes time, energy and patience. The Bereavement Support Group can help you through this difficult process. The Bereavement Support Group has begun at St. Augustine’s in Larchmont and will be held until March 19. The group will meet on Mondays from 1PM to 2:30PM in the Rectory. Evening sessions can also be made available by contacting Sister Muriel. For more information call Sister Muriel at 914-834-1220, ext. 23, or email at: [email protected] ADOPTION Children in China need homes. More boys available than girls. Older parents and single women welcome. For more information call Barbara Salvesen at 845-5277.
