M ARCH 27, 2016 EASTER SUNDAY
DEAR PARISHIONERS and VISITORS:
Our Lenten journey of 40 days and through Holy Weekand into the Easter season is a new beginning for us. Themystery of the dying and rising with Christ is at work in ourlives but sometimes hidden in the depths of our relationshipsand activities.
We are like the two disciples on their journey fromJerusalem to Emmaus after the reports of the Resurrection ofJesus (see Luke 24.13 -35). They were confused and tired. Until Jesus returns with the absolute fullness of His glory,we might have some difficulties with our faith in Jesus.Sometimes we wonder where God is or why things are stillso difficult.
Like those disciples we must return again and again tothe Eucharist in which we recognize in a deeper way Jesus inthe breaking of the bread. We also come to recognize howmuch we need the faith community for our journey of faith. We are on the way to our destiny of sharing fully the life andlove of Jesus. We are not alone and we can help each otherwith prayers, encouragement and good example with God’shelp.
Thank you to everyone who has helped with the HolyWeek and Easter liturgies at Holy Rosary Cathedral. MayGod continue to bless us as we continue our faith journeywith the Risen Lord. Fr. Galvon

¡ Aleluya !
La Comunidad Hispana en la Catedral de Ntra. Sra. del
Santo Rosario les desea felices Pascuas de
Resurrección para usted y los suyos.

STEWARDSHIP IN OUR PARISH
Stewardship Profile of the Week
Richard and Louisa
have been coming to the cathedral
for 7 years.
They serve as RCIA coordinators.
Richard is undergoing formation to
become a permanent deacon; is a
Knight and a lector, and is on the
stewardship committee.
Motto: “Trust and obey.”
Thank you, Richard and Louisa, for
dedicating yourselves completely to
God and His people, and for serving
with zeal, fidelity, humility, and grace.
N.B....
Our sincerest apology to our friend, Conroy, our last week’s
profile, for the typo and misspelling his name. Angela
Stewardship ReflectionOur reflection on the Easter readings may be as profound as anythroughout the liturgical year. Stewards understand that this life ismerely a prelude to the next life — that is why they live as stewards. They recognize that what they seek is a heavenly reward, not anearthly one. Thus the question they must ask is not “What is in this forme?” The question the good steward asks is, “How can I serve?”We are called to be an Easter people. There is a significant differencebetween being an Easter people and just a Church people. If we aretruly an Easter people, our focus is on the victory which Christ’sResurrection presents to us.Easter and the promise it presents us make us a joyful people, whoworship with a sense of hope and confidence. Easter people as goodstewards live their lives with an attitude of gratitude, not a sense ofobligation. Easter people do not fear death, but have comfort in thepromises and salvation of Christ. www.catholicstewardship.com
