HOLY FAMILY PARISHIONERS: Happy Feast Day! This weekend is the Feast of the Holy Family, whose name we proudly bear as a parish. This is the time to remember who we are, where we have been, & what we want to be. Remember 8 years ago? It was our 50th Anniversary as a parish. Now, we close in on 60 years as a faith com-munity in the South Shores area. As we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family, let us pledge ourselves to a renewed & energized faith. May each one of us see where the Lord is calling us to go & to be as individuals, & as a parish family. One of the greatest places to go as a parish & as an in-dividual is to Mass each weekend. Nothing is more im-portant to a parish than the celebration of the Eucharist each weekend. This is what defines us as Catholics! At Mass---that is where the Holy Family would find themselves if they were alive today. Jesus, Mary, & Jo-seph would be in the pew worshiping God. Nothing would or could keep them from this important celebra-tion of their faith in God. We are named for the Holy Family. We have been called to be formed in their image. We are to carry out our baptismal call to share with others the faith that Jesus taught, the humility shown by the Blessed Virgin Mary, & the obedience displayed by Joseph. YOUR PASTOR, FATHER JOE P.S. Thank you so much for the cards, prayers, gifts, food, & well-wishes for me & my mom. We appreciate your generous remembrance. May the Holy Family fill you with the joy of this season!

ANNUAL CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL: This weekend is our Feast Day as a parish. We celebrate the Holy Family---Jesus, Mary, & Joseph. They show us to this day the way to live as a family. They gave to one another & to God. Well, we can do the same. By donat-ing to the Annual Catholic Services Appeal, we can give back to God in thanksgiving & help our parish at the same time by meeting our assessed goal of $80,088. If you have not yet given to the ACSA Campaign, please do so on our parish’s Feast Day. Let us show one another & God that we at Holy Family are holy & a family!

ANNUAL SCHOOL FUND DRIVE has begun! You should have received a brochure about this most impor-tant Drive. Due to your generosity, our Catholic Grade School continues to provide quality, Catholic education for our young people. PLEASE help us now & into the future by contributing. If you did not get the brochure, there are some on the shelf in the church vestibule. Holy Family Parish has a gem in our School---may all of us help it to shine brightly due to our generous giving!

ST. TERESA PLACEMENT TEST for incoming fresh-men of the class of 2022 will be given on Saturday, Janu-ary 6, 2018 at 9:00 am. The purpose of taking the place-ment exam is to give St. Teresa information on properly placing students and in developing a successful 4 year academic plan. Please call St. Teresa 217-875-2431 for more information, or to register for the test.

THANK YOU to Deacon Rob for being with us several times during Advent & on Christmas morning; to our parish musicians, Choir, Contemporary Group, cantors; to all those who volunteered for the other liturgical min-istries. We are so grateful for your service to our parish. Your presence enhanced the worship during this most glorious season of our faith!

BRAVO to Tyler Philllips from St. Teresa on being named to the 1st Team Offense in the Herald & Review’s All-County Football Awards, & to St. Teresa’s Jack Hogan for his Honorable Mention Award. Great job, boys!

THANKS to Sue & Larry Jeisy for donating a piano for the Music Office in church for practice before Masses. We are grateful for their generosity. AND, thanks to those who helped to move it from the Jeisy home to church. Way to go, guys!
