The Day of Pentecost Acts 2:1-4 they were all with one accord in one place. Reveals a time, a place, and an attitude. They all heard a rushing mighty wind. They all saw tongues of fire. II. The Day of Pentecost They all began to speak with other tongues. Tongues in the Greek is glossa = glossary, means language. III. Why did this supernatural event happen on this day? Acts 2:5-13 120 people suddenly begin speaking in various languages they had never known before. And thousands of people hear these individuals speaking in their own native languages. They were all amazed and perplexed. On the Day of Pentecost, God came down and removed languages as a barrier from knowing Him. ( Note verse 11) IV. What Pentecost Means to us today! The Pentecost experience enables the believer to walk righteously. Jesus came to make us righteous positionally ( in right standing with God ). Holy Spirit empowers us to live in a consistent way with our righteous position in Christ. You and I can t walk righteously without the power of the Holy Spirit. V. Holy Spirit changes everything!
