with 2009 Parade of Homes™ at Mueller
• First HBA Parade of Homes in Central Austin in decades • First HBA Parade of Homes to focus on green building design and features at a 5-Star AEGB rating • First series of homes in Central Texas to seek three levels of green building certification AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 25, 2008 – Set your calendars for May 23 through June 7, 2009, when the Home Builders
Association (HBA) of Greater Austin presents the 56th annual Parade of Homes™ tour at Mueller hosted by
Catellus Development Group. This year’s Parade of Homes™, the first in Central Austin in decades, will be
unlike any other as it focuses on ultra-green, ultra-urban homes from a group of exclusively local home builders:
Bill Taute Homes, Cool River Custom Homes, Durrett Interests, The Muskin Company and Streetman Homes.
“We’re eager to bring the 2009 Parade of Homes™ to a large audience that’s enthusiastic about the latest in
sustainable, new urban home design,” said Matt Whelan, senior vice president of Catellus Development Group,
the master developer of Mueller. “Even folks who have witnessed the Mueller community take shape over the
years will be extremely surprised and delighted by what will be achieved with these unique and impressive
homes.”
The official Parade of Homes™ tour allows visitors to check out the latest in architecture, interior decorating,
landscape design and green-building features. These homes, starting at approximately $1 million, are
anticipated to be the first in Central Texas to earn three energy efficiency ratings: (1) a five-star rating in the
nationally recognized Austin Energy Green Building program, (2) LEED® certification from the U.S. Green
Building Council and (3) green building silver level certification from the National Association of Home
Builders. The homes on the tour will range from 3,000 to 4,500 square feet.

“These homes are unlike any other Parade of Homes we’ve hosted around Central Texas, and they will
absolutely inspire and inform our guests about the very latest in energy-efficient features and creative
design elements,” said Wes Peoples, HBA President. “They will be generous in scale with efficient use of
space and an amazing attention to design detail.”
The five participating Parade Homes are designed by local architects: Architecture 365 for Bill Taute
Homes, Barley & Pfeiffer Architects for Durrett Interests, Cornerstone Group Architects for Cool River,
Michael Hsu Design Office for The Muskin Company and Texas Four Architect for Streetman Homes. The
homes will be centered among the 15 custom homes to be constructed by the Parade homebuilders along
Camacho Street facing Lake Park. The 30-acre park, named for its 6.5-acre lake, features a hike & bike
trail, changing and stretching facilities for trail users, interactive playscapes and an open-air amphitheatre.
Mueller's commitment to a broad range of home types and prices is planned to create a diverse, mixed-
income community. With the inclusion of the Parade Homes, residences at Mueller now range from the
$120,000s to more than $1 million.
The Parade of Homes™ at Mueller will take place Saturday, May 23 through Sunday, June 7, 2009.
Homes will be open as weather permits. For information about tickets, parking and event features, visit

About the HBA
For more than 55 years, the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin has served as the leading not-for-
profit trade organization dedicated to residential construction and remodeling in Central Texas. With approximately
850 members, the HBA works with government, public, business and community organizations in five counties to
protect every family’s right to home ownership. The HBA and its members work to ensure that those who protect us,
teach our children, and provide essential services can afford to live here. The vast majority of new homes are
purchased by middle-class families – the very people at risk of being priced out of our communities by rising taxes
and government fees. For more information, visit www.AustinHomeBuilders.com.
About Mueller
Mueller is one of Central Texas’ most ambitious new-urbanist communities located in the heart of Austin. The 700-
acre site of Austin’s former airport is being transformed into a diverse, sustainable, compatible, revitalizing and
fiscally responsible master-planned community. Mueller is taking shape as a joint project between the City of Austin
and Catellus Development Group, a ProLogis company, over 10-15 years following nearly 20 years of extensive
citizen input. Upon completion, Mueller will feature at least 4,600 single-family and multi-family homes, a mixed-use
town center district, 3.8 million square feet of prime commercial space, 650,000 square feet of local and regional
retail space, 140 acres of parks and open space, Dell Children’s Medical Center and the Austin Film Studios. For
