Home Connection Day 1Dear Educator,
This set is designed to support parents at home for
several weeks of learning. Each week, there will
be a focus for each subject. There are weekly to
do’s instead of a daily plan. This gives parents
flexibility without having them hop all over the
place. It also allows up to dig a little deeper on a
topic. I tried to design this more like lesson plans
and less like sub plans. I did not include printables
for a packet in this set. There are a ton in the first
set. You can grab those by clicking here. I also
have a great set with tons of nonthematic
printables in my sub plans packet. You can see it
here. In order to use some links, parents need to
sign up for Brainpop which is free. I have included
instructions for them. I also designed this so if you
wanted to print, you could do so front/back with
8 pages per student for the entire month. Please
let me know if you have any questions. I am here
to support you.
Stay well,
Crystal
Teacher directions
Home Connection Day 1Dear Families,
This packet is to help support your child’s learning at
home during this time. With homeschool being new
for many parents, I wanted to give you the freedom
to plan your days. Each subject has five tasks for
each week. Your child can do all in one day or one
a day. The most important thing is that they are
engaged and excited about learning. If you both
get frustrated, it won’t work. So, let’s take some
pressure off you! Each week there is a theme for
each subject. This will help your child to really focus
and to prevent you from hopping all over the place.
This guide is very user friendly and written with both
parent and student needs in mind. You will need
internet for your child to do this work. If you are
receiving this by email, you can click the blue links. If
not, there is a links page with all links listed. You will
also need to go to brainpop.com and sign up for a
free membership. Click family when given the
option. This is a great website for your child to play
on at any time. It is full of wonderful academic
vocabulary and kids love it. Please let me know if
you have any questions. I am here to help. We will
get through this together!

sentence. Ex. 2+3=5
❖ 2 card addition: Pick up two playing cards. Add the numbers together. Write the
number sentence. Ex. 2+3=5
❖ Make Ten Memory: Turn over two number cards. If they equal ten when adding
them together, you get to keep the cards. If they don’t turn them back over and
pick two new cards. Keep playing until you make ten with all the cards possible.
❖ Make Tens Go Fish: Each player gets ten cards. Use two cards to make sets of
ten. When it is your turn, ask for a card that you need to make ten. For example:
You have a 3. You could ask for a 7. If you get a 7, put your set of ten down. First
player to make their five sets wins.
❖ Make Ten Dice & Cards: Roll the die. Then, turn over a card from the playing
card stack and see if you make ten. If you do, keep the card and go again. If
you don’t, your turn is over. The winner has the most cards at the end of the
game.
❖ Roll and count for money: Roll a die or dice and count out that many pennies. If
you use two dice, use a nickel and pennies.
❖ Cards and money: Turn over a playing card. Count out the correct amount of
money. If it’s less than five, use pennies. If it’s more than five, use pennies, nickels
or a dime.
❖ 1’s and 5’s: Roll the die. Every time you roll a one, get a penny. Every time you roll
a five, get a dime. Roll the die 20 times and see if you have more pennies or
nickels when you are done.
❖ Race to a Dollar: Roll the die and count out that much change. Keep rolling until
you get to a dollar. Exchange your pennies when you get a larger quantity. Ex.
exchange 25 pennies for a quarter.
❖ 2 dice subtraction: Roll 2 dice. Subtract the smallest number from the biggest
number. Write the number sentence. Ex. 7-5=2
❖ 2 card subtraction: Put down two playing cards. Subtract the smallest number
from the biggest number. Write the number sentence. Ex. 7-5=2
❖ Hand full of pennies: Get a bag of ten pennies. Reach in and grab a few. Now,
give half away to another player. Write your number sentence. Ex. 5-3=2
❖ Roll to the hour: Roll the die. Find the number on the clock. Write the hour. For
example: Roll a 5, find 5:00 on the clock and write 5:00.
❖ Playdough Hands: Pick a number card. Use playdough to make the hands on
the clock correctly. Ex. pick up a 4 and use playdough to put hands on the 12
and 4 for 4:00.
❖ Which is later?: Put down two number cards; Cover the hours on the clock with a
penny. Which hour is later? For example: If you pick up the cards 2 and 7, put
pennies on the 2 and 7. Look at the clock. You can tell the 7 pas the 2 because
