The Trains at NorthPark is the most elaborate toy train exhibit in all of Texas and has been completely redesigned this season. Set on 1,600 feet of track, the trains roll on a

journey across America past scenes of downtown Dallas, the Cotton Bowl and the State Fair of Texas, New York City, Washington, D.C., New England, the Grand Canyon, Route 66, Santa’s North Pole, San Francisco and various cross country highlights.

The exhibit encompasses more than 4,000 square feet of train themed environments, with all the trimmings of the holiday train travel experience—steam engine and coach cars, water towers and baggage cart, ticket booth and train station.

The Trains at NorthPark opens Saturday, November 20, 2010 and runs through Sunday, January 2, 2011. The exhibit is open Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, Noon to 6:00 p.m.

The Trains at NorthPark will close early on November 24, Thanksgiving Eve, at 6 p.m.; December 24, Christmas Eve, at 4 p.m.; December 31, New Year’s Eve, at 6 p.m. and January 1, New Year’s Day, at 6 p.m.. The exhibit will be closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

You will love A Tuna Christmas starring author/actors Joe Sears and Jaston Williams, who play the entire cast of over 20 eccentric characters of both genders and various ages.

A Tuna Christmas centers on a small Texas town's annual Christmas Yard Display Contest, won 14 times in a

row by Vera Carp. A mysterious "Christmas Phantom," known for vandalizing the yard displays, threatens to throw the contest into turmoil. Among the subplots are Bertha Bumiller's attempts to hold her family together at Christmas time, and Joe Bob Lipsey's struggle to successfully stage his production of A Christmas Carol despite numerous vexations and obstacles.

FREE and open to the public, the MetroPCS Fair Park Holiday event will feature 10 fun-filled hours of water-dancing, craft-making, gift-buying, tree-lighting, fireworks-flying, good ol’ seasonal glee.

There will be a medley of merriment including a fireworks finale from the rooftops, the official City of Dallas tree-lighting ceremony, kids crafts, a shopping bazaar, holiday-themed entertainment and foods, family-fun activities, Bellagio-style

“dancing water” shows at the Esplanade Fountain synchronized to music at the top of every hour (from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.), plus FREE visits to Fair Park’s museums.

With free museum admission from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., you will enjoy visiting the newly-opened Texas Museum of Automotive History, African American Museum, the recently renovated Children's Aquarium at Fair Park, Museum of Nature & Science, Museum of the American Railroad, Texas Discovery Gardens, Hall of State, and The Women’s Museum.

A variety of free entertainment will be on tap including a performance by the Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s Junior Dance Academy, a puppet show by Le Theatre de Marionette, the Chuck Anderson Quartet and a special performance of “Giggle, Giggle, Quack” by the Dallas Children’s Theater .
