Formed in 2001, the management and staff of ProtecX have manyyears of experience in the radiation protection field, having formerlybeen the manufacturing division of a larger group.

All our protective aprons and accessories are made to the highestquality standards at our own manufacturing unit in Hitchin,Hertfordshire. Manufacturing our own products ensures that we canfulfil the individual requirements of all of our customers. We areregistered to ISO 9001:2008 and all manufactured products carry theCE mark and comply with EC Council Directive 89/686/EEC.

These special procedure aprons available in one or two-piece have beendesigned to fully overlap at the front from axilla to axilla. Designed to offeroptimum protection with minimum weight these aprons are ideal when ahigh level of protection is required.

Available with a total front protection of 0.50mm only, the back can be madeoffering 0.25mm/0.35mm or 0.50mm dependent on your requirements.

Hand controls, attached to the optional accessory rail, allowpersonnel to operate within a safe zone created by the shield.

The 70cm wide lead acrylic window can be raised to a heightof 190cm, for complete protection, or lowered to 115cm foraccess to the patient. The shield occupies minimal space whenlowered after use.

GrayShield eye and thyroid protection shieldsThe GrayShield Eye and Thyroid Protection Shields are the result of an extensive development to produce the mosttechnically and cost effective shielding for patients undergoing CT or X-Ray procedures.

The GrayShield Eye Protector has been designed to providesuperficial anterior and lateral coverage of the eye, tosignificantly reduce and optimise the dose received by the lensduring CT and general X-ray procedures.

The built-in standoff ensures that image artefacts created byshielding are reduced to an absolute minimum. Lens dosereduction exceeds 40% in all CT scan configurations.

Independent X-ray transmission testing on the material showsan 80%+ dose reduction throughout the range of 50 kV to150 kV.

Both Grayshield Protectors are designed for one-time use to prevent possible biological contamination between patients. The shields are made from Barium Sulphate and can safely be disposed of through normal waste procedures.

Grayshield Thyroid Protectors are shaped to fit comfortablyover the Adam’s Apple and are designed to provide asignificant dose reduction to the radiosensitive thyroid gland.The shields have a Lead Equivalency (LE) of 0.125 mm.

The dose reduction through the shield has been independentlytested and verified in clinical studies, showing a practical dosereduction in excess of 60% during CT or general X-rayexaminations and 80%+ dose reduction in independenttransmission testing throughout the range of 50 kV to 150 kV.

AcceptancePurchaser’s purchase order will, upon receipt by us, be deemed acceptedsubject to the terms and conditions herein set forth. Unless specificallyrequested by purchaser, no confirmation of our acceptance will be made.

Payment TermsUnless otherwise stated any invoice must be paid within 30 days. Wereserve the right to charge interest of 4% above the base rate which shallaccrue on a daily compound basis on accounts which remain unpaid.

CarriageAs a general rule carriage will be charged at cost, with shipments madeat the purchaser’s risk. If transport insurance is requested andundertaken, this shall be charged to the purchaser as an additional cost.Method and route of shipment are at our discretion.

Damage or Loss in TransitAny claim made concerning damage or shortages must be made inwriting to us within 3 days of delivery of the goods. Any claim for non-delivery must be made in writing to us within 14 days from the date ofour invoice. Original packaging must be retained.

Retention of TitleAll goods remain the property of ProtecX Medical Ltd until payment ismade in full. ProtecX reserves the right to recall any goods as requiredby the manufacturers.

Time of DeliveryEvery effort will be made to adhere to the delivery times quoted, but noliability can be accepted for any losses incurred by the purchaser in thisrespect. Delays shall not entitle the purchaser to cancel the order nor toclaim damages. We reserve the right to make part deliveries.

Incorrect orders/ReturnsConsideration will always be given to re-stocking items which have beenincorrectly ordered, but many of our products are purpose made andcannot be re-sold. Incorrect or wrongly ordered goods must be notifiedwithin 24 hours and confirmed in writing within 21 days. When we agreeto accept returned goods, these must be returned carriage paid and ingood condition, a credit note will be issued for the original ex worksprice less 15% restocking fee.

Quotations and PricesPrices set forth in quotations may be changed at any time prior to ourreceipt of purchaser’s purchase order, except that the quotation shall befirm for the period, if any, shown on the face thereof.

GuaranteeWe will make good at our discretion by repair or replacement, defectsthat appear in the goods of our manufacture and arise solely from faultyworkmanship or materials, provided that the goods are returned to uscarriage paid within one year of the date of delivery. Goods subject tofair wear & tear, misuse or inadequate maintenance are excluded. Any claim under this guarantee shall be limited to cost of the goods.

Limitation of LiabilityIt is the responsibility of the customer to verify the integrity of allProtecX radiation protection products prior to first use. Customersmust satisfy themselves as to the suitability of any product for anypurpose. Persons authorised to select or use ProtecX products must beaware of the dangers of exposure to radiation.

SteriTouch coatingOuter FabricsProtecX offers a varied range of plain and printed outer fabrics all PU coatedto ensure a fully waterproof and wipeable surface.

In addition to this range ProtecX has introduced SteriTouch antibacterial PVCcoating which is effective against most bacteria including MRSA & E.Coli.

SteriTouch is offered in a range of three brightly coloured designs which willmake these aprons easily identified within your department.

All aprons and accessories should be cleaned using a mild detergent solution.No bleach should be used.

ProtecX is happy to offer a comprehensive repair service for ouraprons.

Our aprons are of course covered by a 12 month guarantee, soany manufacturing faults are repaired free of charge during thisperiod.

Charges for repairs outside of this period will be quoted andagreed with the customer prior to the repair. In some cases itmay be more cost effective to replace the apron.

If a problem with the core material exists, we request you screenthe product and return the result with the apron as we are notable to screen products in our factory.

Please note charges will be incurred for pick up and redelivery tothe customer.
