MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE
We wish everyone the best for the 2020 school year. Wilfrid Jury staff and students are
enthusiascally starng a new year. We want to take this opportunity to welcome
Mrs. Shannon Squire to the Wilfrid Jury team as Vice Principal. Mrs. Frederick was
promoted to Principal at North Meadows Public School.
As a school we are doing all that we can to ensure the safety of students. During each
quarter of the school year, the school’s Health and Safety Team inspect every room in
the building to ensure that safety code expectaons are being followed. We pracce
Code Red (lock down) drills and tornado drills twice a year and fire drills six mes each
year. At recesses, each staff member on duty wears a safety vest and carries a walkie-
talkie. Also, staff members are aware of which students have severe health concerns.
To further enhance the safety of students at Wilfrid Jury, the front door and daycare
doors to the school are the only ones that are unlocked during instruconal me.
Please remember that all visitors must sign in at the office through the front door and
get a visitor’s badge from our administrave assistants before proceeding through the
school.

Happy New Year from the Home & School Association! We would like to thank everyone who has participated in our fundraising efforts thus far. In November, we raised quite a bit of money by selling Recipes In A Jar and Deli Dude products. We continue to offer hot lunches every other week, as well as fro-zen yogurt once a month through Lunchbox Orders. Please see the attached flyer that outlines a change in our pizza supplier. If you haven’t already created an account with Lunchbox Orders, we encourage you to do so! It supports our school as well as takes care of lunch twice a month! We also continue to offer weekly Kernel’s popcorn delivery to your child’s classroom. Did you know you can now pay for popcorn online, through PayPal or e-transfer? Check your popcorn order form for more details! You can also pay with cash when you return your child’s order form.
This month, we will be showing our appreciation for the school staff by hosting a pot luck luncheon on Janu-ary 31 at 11:45am. If you would like to bring something to share with our school’s amazing staff members, please email Catherine at [email protected].

Message from School Council
Home & School Association
Happy new year from the School Council. Please join us for our first meeting of 2020 on Monday January 13th at 6:30 in the school library. We hope to see you there.
Starting in 2020-2021, French Immersion schools will be offering a English Kindergarten Program to those
who are interested in having their child do French Immersion when they enter grade 1. However due to
limited space not everyone will be accepted.
To register you must go to your home school
and register there and then inform your home
school you are interested in sending your
child to the French Immersion Program. At
that time you will be given a form to fill out,
which the school will send to the French Im-
mersion School.
It’s that time of year again, time for Kindergarten registration!
This year Kindergarten registration will take place from January 20 and will run until February 7.
Children born in 2016 will register for Kindergarten year 1 (K1) while those born in 2015 are eligi-
ble to be registered for kindergarten year 2 (K2) for the 2020-21 school year.
Please come into the school between 8:00-3:00 during the registration period to .ill out a new
registration package.
When you come please bring
with you: proof of Canadian citi-
zenship, birth certi.icate or pass-
port, and proof of address in the
form of a current utility bill,
property tax bill, or signed
lease/purchase agreement.
We look forward to meeting our
new students and families!
