If you are currently homeschooling your children or teens,

Lizzie Borden: Did She Do It?

In 1892, Lizzie Borden found herself the accused

murderer of her father and stepmother. Over a century

later, the name Lizzie Borden still

conjures the image of an axe-wielding

murderess. Tricia Kelly peels away

decades of hearsay and media

sensationalism to reveal the real

Lizzie Borden of Fall River. Due to

darkest byproduct of

this period is the

serial killer. From

H.H. Holmes to the

Sausage Vat Murders,

historian Clarence Goodman shares how Chicago fits

prominently into these stories, defining the

phenomenon for over a century. Due to sensitive

Space Race

Tuesday, October 1, 6-7pm at Minooka Branch

In the 1960s, the U.S. and the Soviet Union were locked

in a race to send men to the Moon. This year marked

50 years of human space flight. Michelle Nichols from

the Adler Planetarium will relive the Space Race and

provide an in-depth look at images and information that

have only come to light in the last twenty years. R

See if you can beat the clock in a multi-level escape room,

be the best ghoul in our costume contest, and engage in

Mahjong is a tile-based game that was developed in China. Experienced and beginners are invited
