    Civil War Club 2013 The Legacy Sampler

    In January we will begin our Civil War Club for 2013. Registration is starting now, so be sure to register early to be a part of this sensational quilt club. We will be doing 2 blocks per month with

    the finishing blocks being tackled the 9th month. Each month you will be getting a little bio into

    the life of that months designers. Use your scraps in brown, red, and blue, or pick

    your own color combinations. Quilt measures 66 x 82

    $40 for 9 months includes pattern. We will be meeting the 3rd Thursday of each

    month at 9:30 am beginning in January.

    Ladies of the Loft (Thimbleberries) Club 2013 We will be starting again in January with a new year of fun

    and treats! The group meets the First Thursday of each month at

    9:30 am or 6:00 pm, and the Second Saturday of each month at

    9:30 am. Pick your day and time and join the gals for fun, quilting

    inspiration, and a look at what is new in the world of quilting at

    The Calico Shoppe!

    New in 2013, we will have projects and free patterns monthly.

    Do them only if you wish to, but they might be too cute to pass up!

    Still only $25 for the year, plus required book for 2013 (20% off

    book until January 12th).

  • Spring Retreat March 14 - 17 2013

    Best Western Trail Lodge

    We’ve moved our retreat to the Best Western Trail Lodge in Eau Claire. We are very excited about our new

    location. We have much more space, and best of all we are all in the same room! (Visit our website for a slide

    show from Fall 2011) You will have luxurious accommodations with 2 queen beds, a fridge and microwave in

    each room. There is also a pool and hot tub to lounge by for a little relaxation between quilting projects.

    Our retreat will begin Thursday evening at 6:00 pm and will end around 3:00 pm Sunday. You can also

    begin Friday morning if that works into your schedule better.

    Cost of the retreat is only $100 which includes lunches and suppers with ice water and coffee available.

    Are you ready for an 8 month Mystery? All your fabrics have already been chosen. We will

    be using a line of fabric designed by Blackbird

    Designs called “Cinnamon Spice” by Moda. It is

    gorgeous, so that part is not going to be the mystery.

    You will know what the fabrics will look like before

    you start. The end result will be a mystery, but trust

    us, it is a spectacular quilt. You can do the 77 x 77 or

    the larger quilt which is 111 x 111. We will also have

    two ways to sign up for the projects:

    1) receive all fabrics the first month and just stop in

    each month to pick up that months directions

    or

    2) Stop in each month and pick up fabric along with

    directions

    $140 one time fee 77 x 77

    or

    $22 monthly 77 x 77

    $210 one time fee 111 x 111

    or

    $32 monthly 111 x 111

  • Embroidery Group We have a fun group of embroiderers that meet at The

    Calico Shoppe on the 4th Thursday of each month at

    5:00 pm. They would love to have you join them.

    Spend a couple hours with gals who love to embroider

    as much as you do!

    Join Jodie as she takes you step by step through the intri-

    guing process of constructing these simply beautiful table

    runners. Each one Jodie brings in is prettier than the last!

    From each pattern packet you will have enough paper pat-

    terns to construct two runners and one round table topper.

    That being said, during class you will only be working on

    one table runner. We have divided this class into two ses-

    sions for your convenience, and ease of construction.

    Wed. October 17 6:00 - 9:00

    Block of the Month If you enjoyed our Monthly Mini’s Block of the

    Month projects, and enjoy working with wool,

    you are going to Love our newest BOM “Wool

    & Needle” by Buttermilk Basin. Start with

    Jill’s class Dec. 1 if you need a refresher on

    working with wool appliqué, or need to get tips

    on doing wool appliqué, or just jump right in

    beginning in Dec. with month 1 of the 13 month

    series.

    register and pick up your supply lists, or you may register by

    phone, using a credit card. If registering by phone you may pick

    your supply list up at a later date (if you live out of town and

    would like us to mail your supply list, please let us know). Pay-

    ment must be received at time of registration to guarantee

    your spot in the class. If you must cancel your reservation, we

    must know at least five days prior to the class, or no refund

    will be given.

    We always respect copyright laws. If a pattern or book is

    required for your class, you must have your own copy.

    quilting techniques, including rotary cutting, 1/4” seam allow-
