•Homework will be given out on Wednesday and is to be handed in on the following Monday (unless for a longer project when more time will be given.)

•Our homework allows the children to choose how they will complete the task. To begin, we will set the subject of the task e.g. My Special person and the children can select how to present this e.g. poster, PowerPoint , mind-map or description.

•As the term progresses, we will give the children more opportunities to select the subject and the form based on any subject from that week.

•We encourage the children to chose something different every week from the homework chart (in the front of the Home-School diary / website.)

•We celebrate their achievements by displaying examples in the classroom and sharing them in our celebration assembly on Friday.

SpellingsSpellings•Spellings are learnt over the week. We introduce them on Monday and the children practice them for the rest of the week during Guided Reading. •Spellings are part of homework and so should also be reinforced and learnt at home with you. The spelling sheet will have a ‘Look-Cover-Write-Check’ sheet which is to be completed and kept at home.

•Spellings are tested on a Friday in school and results are tallied. Groupings are based on the spelling score obtained in week 3.
