HISTORY Bosnia and Herzegovina became Contracting Party of 1958
Agreement by succession from Yugoslavia on 2 May 1994, which wassigned by Yugoslavia in 14th February 1962.
In 2008, Bosnia and Herzegovina published the Regulation forhomologation of Wheeled Vehicles, Equipment and Parts which canbe Fitted and/or be Used on Wheeled Vehicles.
In 2010, the first Decision was issued on minimal technicalrequirements for new and used vehicles for process of homologationof types of vehicle and homologation of single vehicle, whichconsists of 94 orders for 94 UN Regulations.
Process of vehicle homologation started in full capacity on 1st ofJanuary 2011.

VISION
Ensure the import of vehicles, equipment and parts for vehicles inaccordance with the accepted UN Regulations.
To set functional, efficient and flexible (FEF) homologation system inBosnia and Herzegovina based on best practices and informationtechnologies.

THE LEGAL FRAMEWORK 1958 Agreement UNECE Vehicle Regulations (94 UN ECE Regulations in use in Bosnia and
Herzegovina) EU Directive International Standards Law of Traffic Safety on roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina Regulation for homologation of Wheeled Vehicles, Equipment and
Parts which can be Fitted and/or be Used on Wheeled Vehicles. Decision on minimal technical requirements for new and used vehicles
for process of homologation of types of vehicle and homologation ofsingle vehicle, from 2019.

HOMOLOGATION CONCEPT
Homologation concept in BIH is based on the handover ofauthorizations to expert institution, chosen at publicnotice/advertisement, for administrative and technical jobs, andinteractive connections with the Ministry of Communications andTransport of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Established network of 65 technical services throughout Bosnia andHerzegovina, which are checking and inspecting vehicles.
Documents and information circulate through a secure informationsystem.

Homologation of Equipment and Parts which can be fitted on vehicle began on31st August 2019, for a group of parts and equipment: Child Restraint Systems,protective helmets and their visors, warning triangles, special warning lamps, rearmarking plates for slow-moving vehicles, rear marking plates for heavy and longvehicles, retro-reflective markings and pneumatic tyres for vehicles.

53 UN Regulations are prescribed for vehicle parts, appliances andequipment.
