Atharva is one of the fastest growing, educational

innovation and global benchmarking. The objective
of the Atharva Group of Institutes is to create
‘industry ready’ youth who can be gainfully
employed upon completion of their courses.
In addition we have several diversifications, the
primary of which is the IT Park which will be a
challenge to accomplish and achieve.
Our focus is on Research, Technology &
Innovation.
‘Dale Carnegie Train the Teacher Program’
Atharva College of Engineering organized
internationally acknowledged ‘Dale Carnegie Train
the Teacher Program’ during September 4 to 6,
2019. It provided a wonderful platform for faculty
members to learn and collaborate. This Faculty
Development Program will definitely bring a
significant enhancement in the teaching quality and
delivery methodologies.

Department of Electronics Engineering organized
industrial visit for third year students at nanotechnology
lab, IIT Bombay on August 29, 2019. 38 students of
third year along with the faculty in charge Ms.
Kavita Bani visited the Laboratory.
Innovation cell activities
Innovation cell of ACE organized an intercollegiate IP
Workshop and Idea Meister competition on September
26 and 27, 2019. Innovation Cell team got plenty of
budding entrepreneurs and is overwhelmed with the
students' interaction with the IPR expert.
Electronics Engineering Department
Activities
Faculty Development Program on Cyber
Security
The Department of Electronics Engineering,
Atharva college of Engineering, Mumbai in
association with Shivaji University, Kolhapur has
successfully organized One – Week Faculty
Development Program (FDP) on “Cyber Security”
sponsored under PMMMNMTT Scheme, an
initiative by MHRD with participation of different
stakeholders. The FDP addresses the various aspects
of digital security and promoted student centric
teaching – learning pedagogy among the
participants.
Mr. Harish Chandar, Founder/Director, India-Tech
International and Mr. Ashish Kulkarni from Festo
Controls India Pvt. Ltd. chaired the event as Chief
Guest for the inaugural function. Mr. Ramprasad
Sir, Registrar, ACE, Dr. Bhavin Shah (Convener
and Head of ETRX.) and Mr. Aniket Badami
(Speaker) graced the inaugural function. All Vice
Principals and Heads of Department were present
for the function.

Parents-Teacher Meeting
Parents-Teacher Meeting (PTM) was conducted for
SE, TE and BE students by the Electrical Engineering
Department on August 29, 2019. The meeting was
conducted with respective batch mentors about
students' attendance and their Unit test-1 performance.
Parents of 102 students participated actively in the
PTM, making it a grand success.
The Parent Teachers Meeting for Information
Technology Department was scheduled on August 26,
2019 to discuss about the students' progress and
performance. It was a great interaction between the
teachers and parents, regarding the development of
their children. Faculty members discussed the
strengths and specific areas of improvement of
students.
Department of Electronics Engineering organized a
Parents-Teacher Meeting on August 29, 2019 for the
Final Year, Third Year and Second Year Engineering
students. Parents interacted with Mentors/Class In-
charges and discussed about their ward's progress.
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication
Engineering organized the Parent Teacher Meeting for
students of SE, TE and BE on 26th August 2019. The
parents interacted with the Mentors and Class-in-
charges and were made aware about the students'
progress in the current semester. Parents positively
participated to take feedback and actively contributed
to the Meet.
Department of Computer Engineering conducted
parent teacher meeting August 26, 2019.
During parent teacher meeting, mentors interacted
with parents about attendance, Term Test-1 marks and
overall performance of the students. The importance
of Internship and Placements was also discussed with
parents. The PTM saw a very good response from
parents and they appreciated the efforts taken by the
college and faculty members in developing the career
of their wards.

On the occasion of Engineers’ Day, Management and
R&D cell of Atharva College of Engineering

EESA 2019
Department of Electrical Engineering, EESA 2019
successfully conducted annual technical fest on
September 26 and 27, 2019. Project Competition,
Poster Competition, Workshop, Seminar, and Quiz
were organized. Speaker of the seminar was Mr.
Hitesh Choudhary (Scientific officer BARC).
Workshop on Aurdino, hands-on-wiring and
components testing were conducted by students on
September 20, 2019 as pre-event workshop.
IUCEE SCALE Local Student Workshop
(LSW) “Techno Synapse” Atharva IUCEE SCALE organized Local Student
Workshop (LSW) “Techno Synapse” on September 13
and 14, 2019. The objective of the workshop was to
encourage students to think and focus to work together
and accelerate the process of improving the quality of
engineering education and research in Smart India
Hackathon 2019-2020 and to provide Internship
opportunity for maximum number of students.

'Seva Saptah' initiative
Atharva Foundation conducted a ‘Seva Saptah’ in
honour of Hon. Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra
Modiji’s Birthday week. Volunteers of Atharva
foundation rendered their services across the city
during this ‘Service Week’.
Volunteers of Atharva Foundation visited Nutan
Hindi School, Malad East under the 'Seva Saptah'
initiative and distributed notebooks to the
children as a part of School Adoption.
Road safety campaign was conducted by the
volunteers of Atharva Foundation at Mith Chauk,
Malad West under the ‘Seva Saptah ‘initiative.
Atharva team visited Shanti Dhaan and communicated
with specially disabled children and adults.
Anti Plastic Drive Awareness was conducted by
the volunteers of Atharva Foundation where 400
paper bags were distributed by the team from
Atharva College to Ganesh Nagar Chauk, Malad
West under the ‘Seva Saptah ‘ initiative.
Beach Clean Up Drive was conducted at Marve
Beach, Malad West by Atharva Foundation under the
‘Seva Saptha’ in honour of Hon. Prime Minister, Shri.
Narendra Modiji’s Birthday week.
Volunteers of Atharva foundation actively
participated for the Cleanliness drive at Shatabdi
Hospital, Kandivali west as a part of ‘Seva Saptah
‘initiative.

Student’s Achievement
Students of Atharva College of Engineering from the
Computer Engineering Department, secured 1st
Runner Up position in SAKEC Technical Debate held
at Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College,
Mumbai.
Congratulations to Prem Raval & Rishabh Shetty for
their splendid performance.
Atharva dance team secured first position at National
Institute of Event Management (NIEM).
Mr. Mandar Vasaikar, (S.E. Electrical) won two gold
medals in the West Zone Nationals held at Alwar
Rajasthan.
Mr. Omkar Sawalkar (Electronics), Mr. Akash
Metkari and Mr. Ajay Gupta (Electrical) won
Carrom National Level Inter-Engineering Sports
Summit 2019 held at MIT-WPU, Pune.
Mandar Vasaikar from Electrical department won
two gold medals in the West Zone Nationals
which was held at Alwar Rajasthan.

Engineering organized an Alumni Talk by Mr Suyog
Vyavahare for third year students on the topic “Being
Entrepreneur in Electronics Industry “on July 21,
2019. Speaker discussed about various innovative
electronics products and product ideas that he has
developed. He also shared his experience as
entrepreneur with clients and National and
International market scenario.
Department of Information Technology and Computer
Engineering organized an Alumni Talk by Mr Omkar
Sanap, Mr. Rajas Thawal & Mr. Harsh Kshatriya for
final year students on the subject “Pre-placement
preparations” on July 11, 2019. Speakers discussed
about challenges and solutions in placement tests and
interviews.
Department of Electronics & Telecommunications
Engineering organized an Alumni Talk by Mr Kunal
Kashikar for Second year students on the topic “Scope
in Electronics” on July 17, 2019. He also gave
overview of various innovative project ideas along
with advanced techniques used in electronics
industries.

Department of Humanities & Applied Science
conducted Seminar on "Art of Living" by
Motivational Speaker Mrs. Priya Sawant for first year
engineering students on September 18, 2019.

Activities Workshop on "Fundamentals of Computer
Vision: Certified by Nvedia"
Department of Computer Engineering organized
two days workshop on "Fundamentals of Computer
Vision: Certified by Nvedia" for the Third Year
Engineering students on August 21 and 22, 2019.
All students actively participated in the workshop.
More than 50 Students got Certificates from Nvidia.
Workshop on Introduction to Scientific
Computing using Python by Fossee- IIT Bombay
Department of Computer Engineering organized
one day workshop on Introduction to Scientific
Computing using Python by Fossee- IIT Bombay on
September 19, 2019. It was conducted for second
and third year students under the guidance of Prof.
Suvarna Pansambal and Prof. Mahendra Patil.
In this workshop students learned various industry
applications of Python and were trained in Python
through hands-on practice sessions and quizzes.
Seminar on “Introduction to Smart India
Hackathon”
Department of Computer Engineering organized a seminar
on “Introduction to Smart India Hackathon” for second
year students on September 11, 2019. Around 85 students
attended the seminar and were benefitted by the meticulous
instructions/steps given to successfully compete in SIH
and were inspired to take part in the upcoming
competition.
Seminar on Interview Skills by Squad Infotech Pvt. Ltd
Department of Computer Engineering organized a seminar
on Interview Skills by Squad Infotech Pvt. Ltd under the
guidance of Prof. Suvarna Pansambal & Prof. Mahendra
Patil. Around 90 students of final year attended the same
on August 20, 2019.
Virtual Seminar On Iot And Machine Learning
Department of Computer Engineering organized virtual
seminar under student development program (SDP), on
IoT and Machine Learning on August 19, 2019 under the
guidance of Prof. Suvarna Pansambal & Prof. Mahendra
Patil. Around 130 students of second year and final year
attended the same.

Workshop on Web Development
Department of Computer Engineering organized
one day workshop on "Web Development" by
EOTO Tech on August 23, 2019. It was
conducted by Mr. Shivam Vahia, Mr. Mayank
Vandra and Mr. Premkumar Raval for second
year students. In this workshop students learn
web development and content management
system like Wordpress.
Department of Computer Engineering had
organized one day seminar on Career Guidance in
Blockchain which was conducted for SE and TE
CMPN under the guidance of Prof. Suvarna
Pansambal and Prof. Mahendra Patil. In this
seminar students learned various industry
applications of Blockchain under Spoken Tutorial
portfolio.

Workshop on "Arduino Coding and its
Applications"
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication
Engineering successfully conducted a one-day
workshop on "Arduino Coding and its Application" on
August 27, 2019 organized by Tech Cryptors in
collaboration with Tirutsava IIT, Tirupati. Students
understood the basics of Arduino and its applications
with hands-on training.
Workshop on "Industrial approach to
Electronics"
Department of Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineering organized two
days workshop on "Industrial approach to
Electronics" for the second year students on July
17 and 18, 2019. Students were given exposure to
several electronic devices and components with
their functioning, specifications, usage and
applications based on current Industry needs.

Workshop on Basic PCB designing
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication
Engineering organized two days workshop on "Basic
PCB designing" by Mr Kunal Kashikar for the Second
year students on July 29 and 30, 2019. All Students
actively participated in the workshop and were
effectively guided to design their own PCB along with
practice session.
Seminar on Pre-placement talk
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication
Engineering organized a seminar on “Pre-placement
talk” for the Second year students on July 21, 2019
and addressed them about the different aspects of
placement like Eligibility Criteria, Skills and
presentation.
Industrial Visit at Festo India Pvt Ltd
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication
Engineering organized Industrial visit at Festo India
Pvt. Ltd. on September 16, 2019. Total 49 students
visited company. Company showed demonstration of
automation & Mechatronics with introduction to
Industry4.0.
Workshop on Industrial approach to

Department of Electronics & Telecommunications
Engineering organized two days workshop on
"Industrial approach to Electronics" for the Second
year students on July 17 and 18, 2019. Students were
given exposure to several electronic devices and
components with their functioning, specifications,
usage and applications based on current Industry
needs.

Orientation for the subject of Microwave
Engineering
Department of Electronics & Telecommunication
Engineering organized an orientation program as per
the guidelines of Mumbai University for the subject of
Microwave Engineering for semester VII. The session
was conducted by the domain expert Dr. Uday Pandit
Khot, Professor, SFIT on July 10, 2019. He is a
member of The Board of Studies, Electronics &
Telecommunication Engineering, Mumbai University
and have more than 27 years of teaching experience.
The orientation was attended by faculty members of
various colleges from Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri,
Asangaon, and Karjat. The orientation was concluded
with vote of thanks by Dr. Deepak Waikar (Vice Chair
for IEEE Education Society Chapter, Singapore.
Seminar on "3D Printing"
Department of Electronics & Telecommunications
Engineering and FABLAB (ACE) organized seminar
on "3D Printing" in collaboration with ISAGON
company on September 26, 2019. Seminar was
conducted by Mr. Kunal Kashikar (CEO, ISAGON).
Seminar gave insight about 3d printing technology, its
need in current industry, basics of 3D print, its
advantages and applications.
Virtual lecture "Electromagnetic waves and
Antenna Basics"
Department of Electronics & Telecommunications
Engineering organized virtual lecture on topic
"Electromagnetic waves and Antenna Basics" by Dr.
Vinitkumar Dongre, Head, Department of EXTC,
Thakur College of Engineering. Third year students
learnt basics of Electromagnetic waves with animation
and Antenna wave propagation.

Activities
Seminar on "Smart Hackathon"
Department of Information Technology conducted
seminar on "Smart Hackathon" for second year
students on September 19, 2019. They get valuable
information and inspiration to take part in
competition.
Department of Information Technology organized
an IoT workshop for TE students on September 26,
2019. Prof. Richard Joseph from Vivekanand
College of Engineering, Mumbai covered topics
like IoT implementation using Arduino uno and
Node MCU, Arduino libraries, data transfers over
cloud using thingspeak platform. Students enjoyed
workshop and learnt various data transfer
platforms.
Visit to Microsoft
Department of Information Technology organized a
one-day visit to Microsoft on September 5, 2019. Aim
of this visit was to have hands-on learning of
Cognitive AI services on AZURE cloud. Students
implemented few Artificial Intelligence applications
on their machines and it was great for all to interact
with the Microsoft Techies.

Department of Information Technology conducted
workshop on "How to Write Research Paper" for final
year students, under Research & Development activity
on September 16, 2019.

Seminar on Introduction to Smart Hackathon
Department of Information Technology organized a
seminar on "Introduction to Smart Hackathon" for third
year students. Around 68 students attended the seminar.
The students were motivated to take part in SIH 2019-
2020
Visit to "Godrej”
Department of Information Technology organized visit to
Godrej, Vikhroli for third year students on August 31,
2019. Visit includes sessions on IoT and AWS by
different industry experts. Students have enjoyed all the
technical sessions and have communicated with all
technical persons for further collaborations.
Workshop on Internet of Things
Department of Information Technology organized one
day workshop on IOT on September 23, 2019 by Prof.
Richard Joseph from VESIT. In this workshop students
learned industry applications of IOT, owning a private
cloud, and hands - on session on IOT which will help
students to build IOT based applications.
FOSSEE workshop on Scientific Basic Python
Department of information technology organized
FOSSEE workshop on Scientific Basic Python.
SE and TE students learned various concepts of
python in this workshop.
Electrical Engineering Department Activities
Industrial Visit to SMEC Labs Mumbai
Department of Electrical engineering organized an
industrial visit to SMEC Labs, Mumbai - Department
of research and development. 45 students of third year
along with Mr. Suraj Tripathy attended the visit under
the supervision of Prof. Sangeeta Jain, Head
Department of Electrical engineering. The students
had an opportunity to learn the modern research
technologies along with the practical handling of PLC
technology along with the Human machine interface.

Virtual Lecture on "EV Industries of India"
Department of Electrical Engineering arranged virtual
lecture on "EV industries of India" by Dr. Jignesh
Makwana, Marwadi University, Rajkot on September 16,
2019.The topics discussed were Benefit of EV,
Automobile industry, Worldwide view on EV,
Government initiative, Indian EV industries, Indian EV
and Start-ups and skills required for EV. Session was
intended for second year and final year students and 88
students attended the lecture.
Workshop on Introduction to Automation & PLC
Department of Electrical Engineering organized a
workshop on Introduction to Automation and PLC on
August 26, 2019. The workshop was conducted by Mr.
Shreeniwas Kulkarni, Centre Manager, Sage Automation,
Mumbai. The students experienced hands on training on
PLC, Ladder logic design and various applications of
VFD's. Introduction to SCADA and HMI has also proved
beneficial for students.
Seminar on "Application of Power Electronics"
Department of Electrical Engineering organized a
Seminar on "Application of Power Electronics" for SE
and TE students on August 30, 2019. The session was
conducted by Dr. Mini Rajeev, Associate Professor,
FCRIT, Vashi. She has done her M. Tech and PhD.
from IIT Bombay. The session was highly beneficial
for the students.
Seminar on Advanced Trends in Automation
The department of Electrical engineering organized a
seminar on the advanced trends in automation by the
company, SMEC automation and marine department.
Student had an overview in the marine electronics.

Independence Day Celebration (August 15, 2019)
Atharva celebrated 73rd Independence Day in AET
Campus on August 15, 2018. Senior Inspector, Malvani
Police station chaired the function as a chief guest. Dr. P.
N. Nemade (Director ACE), Dr. S. P. Kallurkar (Principal
ACE) and Mr. Ramprasad Sir, Registrar, ACE, graced the
function. All the Vice-Principals, Heads of Department,
faculty members and staff were present for the function.
NSS Activities
Donation Drive
NSS Atharva organized a donation drive at Atharva
College of Engineering to procure maximum resources
possible to help the people of Kolhapur.
World Rose Day with cancer Patients
NSS Atharva celebrated World Rose Day with cancer
patients on September 27, 2019.
NSS students spent time with cancer patients along
with some educational activities. This event took place
at Dr. Earnest Borges Memorial Home, Bandra East
‘India First Leadership Talk Series’ (IFLTS)
Faculty members and Students of Atharva College of
Engineering attended the ‘India First Leadership Talk
Series’ (IFLTS) organized by MHRD on August 22,
2019 on DD National Live.
Faculty Development program on “Emotional
Intelligence in Learning Environment”
Presentation on "Emotional Intelligence in Learning
Environment" was conducted by Prof. Joslyn Gracias,
Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and
Telecommunication engineering for the faculty
members of Atharva College of Engineering.
