What is Retired Living?
Retired Living Schemes are aimed at people who’re over 60 years of age. They
are self contained, purpose built flats with their own front doors, kitchens and
bathrooms. They are available for both couples or single people and offer inde-
pendence with support if and when needed. They provide good quality accom-
modation that has comfort and security, and provides 24 hour support for resi-
dents with the provision of a pendant in case the resident has a fall or becomes
ill.
Your Retired Living Scheme
Honeypot Meadow consists of twenty one bungalows each having their own
garden. Tenants at Honeypot have access to all communal facilities at Olland
Court, including their social events.
Olland Court consists of twenty two flats with a large communal garden.
There is a large car park providing ample parking for residents and visitors.
There is a communal room located on the ground floor at Olland Court where
all the residents are welcome to join in with the various scheme activities.
The schemes are located next to each other in the small market town of Bun-
gay, a quick ten minute walk into the town centre. Bungay offers a wide range
of services, there is a library, Doctors surgery, post office and a variety of
shops within walking distance of the schemes.
Your Scheme Manager
My name is Jackie Balaam I have lived at Honeypot Meadow, Olland
Court for thirteen years, supporting residents to live independently
in their own homes. I will keep in contact with the residents ac-
cording to their preference either visiting daily or weekly. I ensure
that emergency equipment is tested regularly. I respond to emer-
gencies and liaise with appropriate agencies.
Fire Protection
Honeypot Meadow have smoke detectors in place
which are tested regularly to ensure they are in
good working condition.
Olland Court has smoke detectors linked into a fire
panel that can identify the location of the fire. There
is a fire box on the wall containing information for
the fire brigade to access all areas of the court. The
residents have instructions on the wall inside their
front doors to remind them what they should do in
the event of a fire. The fire assembly point is located
on the corner at the entrance of Olland Court. There
are seven fire points located around the scheme
that are tested on a rotational basis once a week.
