Honeywell Capran® Controlled High Slip Film
fast, consistent nylon film processing in all relative humiditiesnew improved product handling and abrasion resistance in addition to all the benefits of biaxially-oriented nylon film
April 2007© 2007 Honeywell International Inc.
Honeywell is proud to introduce its newCapran® Controlled High Slip (CHS)biaxially-oriented nylon film. Neverbefore has nylon film been so easy tohandle and process. CHS nylon film fromHoneywell maintains a consistent, lowcoefficient of friction (COF) over a broadrange of relative humidities. This enablesincreased speed and consistency of itsprocessing, as well as allowing for betterproduct handling and reduced surfaceabrasion. Nylon's COF normally increas-es with rising humidity levels;Honeywell's CHS nylon film overcomesthis characteristic.
Capran® CHS nylon film is producedby applying a special coating toHoneywell's standard Capran® film. The COF of CHS nylon is controlledby this non-migratory surface coating, sothe thickness of the base film will notaffect the resulting COF. Exposure toheat will not degrade the performance of the film.
Our film maintains nylon's excellenttoughness and clarity plus flex crack and puncture resistance while providing
a controlled, low COF surface. These
characteristics make it ideal for applica-
tions ranging from flexible packaging
bags and pouches to bookcovers.
Honeywell’s CHS film meets the require-
ments and specifications of 21CFR
177.1500(a)(b) and (b)(6.1-6.2). The
film’s adhesive coating conforms to the
compositional requirements of 21CFR
175.105.
