Bringing the Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail closer to the waterfront • The base map is by Starun showing the safe route for their 60km running event around Hong Kong Island. • The red dotted lines indicate where the route can move closer to the waterfront. • To achieve this the following actions have been taken: 1. 280m elevated walkway linking Telegraph Bay and Sandy Bay waterfronts was approved in principle as a

District Minor Works project. As the budget exceeds this category, the project has been re-submitted to ITB/Cyberport for inclusion of their expansion project.

2. Short bridge over Waterfall Bay is an active District Minor Works project under Home Affairs Department – Southern District.

3. Request for improvements to existing trail has been submitted to Home Affairs Department – Southern District.

4. Request for a trail from Cape D’Aguilar Road to Shek O Main Beach has been submitted to Home Affairs Department – Southern District.

5. Request for opening a pathway through the Museum of Coastal Defense has been submitted for study by the LCSD.

6. Improvements are in progress under the Harbourfront Commission.
