The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce postgraduate Masters degree scholarships for candidates from Hong Kong beginning their studies in September 2019.
This may be in any subject area. The Scholarship is a tuition fee award, worth up to the cost of a laboratory-based course, which is paid directly to the University of Birmingham.

Eligibility and application proceduresCandidates for the scholarships should normally fulfil the following requirements:n Hold a Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region or British National Overseas passport and have resided in Hong Kong for the seven years preceding 1 October 2019
n Be holders of a degree (or expect to gain a degree before September 2019) from an institution of tertiary education in Hong Kong
n Have applied by 29 March 2019 for admission to the University of Birmingham through normal admissions procedures
n Be eligible for admission to their intended course of study (note: the scholarship award will only be confirmed when the candidate has been offered a place at
the University)n Be able to provide evidence satisfactory
to the University of an adequate knowledge of written and spoken English
n Should not have previously studied in the United Kingdom on a credit-bearing programme leading to a degree awarded by a UK institution
n Should be able to fund the remaining costs of their studies at Birmingham (including living costs) from other sources
The Scholarships Selection CommitteeApplications will be considered and shortlisted by the Scholarships Selection Committee.
In considering applications, the Selection Committee will take into account both academic and personal qualities of candidates, and their expected future contribution to Hong Kong.
Two copies of the completed application form and all supporting documents are to be returned to the Student Finance Office by 29 March 2019.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview which will be held in summer 2019.
Notes for applicantsn The decisions of the Selection Committee
are final. Under no circumstances will the Committee be required to explain why any application has been accepted or declined.
n The successful candidates must inform the University of any health factor which might at any time affect their ability to continue with or complete their programme of study.
n The University reserves the right to terminate the Scholarship in case of failure to make satisfactory academic progress, as determined by the student’s department.
