Honor with Books

n inspirational work of literature – the answer to an urgent question – a favorite bedtime story – there are moments in our lives when a

book makes an indelible impression. Books sustain us, connect us with one another and the rest of the world. Bookplates make that connection visible. They honor those who have enriched our lives.

Western Kentucky University Libraries invites you to participate in Honor with Books, a program designed to pay a lasting tribute to a special person in your life by placing a bookplate in his or her honor in one newly purchased book in the subject area of your choice (Arts, Humanities, Science, Engineering or Social Sciences). Your $100 gift to the Honor with Books Fund will support a critical acquisitions need while honoring a loved one, friend, special teacher or colleague in perpetuity.

“Libraries are not made; they grow.” — Augustine Birrell (1850-1933)

or those who wish to endow a specific area of study, ranging from art history to zoology, we invite you to consider a special opportunity to establish a named endowment for $10,000. Books that are acquired with those funds will be plated with custom- designed bookplates, and the collection will grow in perpetuity, with all acquisitions bearing the bookplate that links the honoree to that field of inquiry.
