PDP Peggy Liss Class C Membership Award – Traveling Plaque
1. The Auxiliary must have a total membership of 10 through 25 by June 1 each year.
2. The award is presented to the Auxiliary who has the largest gain in membership over the previous
year’s totals (including new, renewed and life members).
3. The Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department.
4. If Peggy Liss is not present, please have the 1st Vice President present the award.

3. The award will be given out according to the Department totals in membership from one year to
the next.
4. The Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department.

CHILD WELFARE AWARDS
PDP Kathy Biela Child Welfare Award – Traveling Plaque
This award is presented to the local Auxiliary with 10 to 40 members in the Department of Michigan
AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary who has done the most outstanding work in Child Welfare. This will be a
traveling plaque. To be eligible for this award, the following requirements must be complied with:
1. Reports must be on current regulation forms.
2. Both mid-year (even if nothing to report) and final reports must be submitted to the Department
Child Welfare officer and postmarked by the deadline dates set by the Department of Michigan or
be disqualified. Emails are not acceptable.
3. Local Auxiliary must have contributed to the Department Child Welfare project.
4. The winning Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department of Michigan or they will not
be considered for this award.
5. The total evaluation shall be the deciding factor.
Should there be any question by the Honors and Awards Committee pertaining to a report, the donor is to
be contacted before any decision is made. If the donor is not available to present the award at Department
Convention, it is to be presented by a member of her Auxiliary, or if none are present, by the Department
2nd Vice. When all the name plates are filled, this plaque shall be awarded to the Auxiliary that won it the
most times, to be retained by said Auxiliary permanently. The donor reserves the right to change these
rules as deemed necessary by herself.

PDP Wendy L. Lynema Child Welfare Award – Monetary Award
This Award is presented to the local AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary doing the most outstanding work in the
Department of Michigan Child Welfare Program. This shall be a monetary award. To be eligible for this
award, the following requirements must be complied with:
1. The Auxiliary must have a total membership of 41 or over as of June 1.
2. Both midyear and final reports must be submitted on current regulation Department report forms
to the Department of Michigan 2nd Vice President and be postmarked by the due dates, Nov. 5th
(mid-year) and May 5th (final).
3. The Auxiliary must have contributed to the Department Child Welfare fund through the
Department.
4. The winning Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department of Michigan.
5. Each cash donation, other than those sent through the Department, in excess of $500 must be
verified by submitting a copy of the check. All verifications are to be submitted along with the
project report form where the donation is listed.

7. Should there be any question by the Honors and Awards Committee pertaining to a report, the
donor is to be contacted before any decision is made.
8. The total evaluation of the Auxiliary shall be the factor in determining the winner.

10. Authorized changes will be made as deemed necessary by the donor only.
If the Donor is not able to present the award at convention, a member of her Auxiliary will present the
award. Should no local member be present then the current Department 2nd Vice President will make the
presentation.

PDP Patricia Whitcher Penrickton Award – Traveling Plaque
This award is presented to the local AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary of any size, doing the most outstanding
work for Penrickton.
1. A completed application along with a project sheet outlining Penrickton projects must be sent to
the Department and postmarked by May 5.
2. A mind-year and final report must be submitted by the required dates to the Department Child
Welfare Chairman by an Auxiliary in good standing.
3. Department project sheets are to be used to apply for this award. All projects listed for
Penrickton are also to be included on the Child Welfare report.
Judging criteria:
A. The deciding factor will be the total evaluation divided by membership.
B. If a tie occurs, the number of different projects will be the deciding factor.
This will be a traveling award for five (5) years. When filled, it will be retired and given to the
Auxiliary that has earned it the most times. The rules may be changed at the Donor’s discretion, with
SEC approval. If the donor isn’t available to present the award at the Department Convention, it is to be
presented by a member of the Donor’s Auxiliary.

PDP Maureen Jackson Community Service Award – Monetary Award
This award is presented to the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary in the category of 10 to 40 members who has
done outstanding work in Community Service. This is a monetary award. To be eligible for this award,
the following requirements must be complied with:
1. Reports must be on regulation forms provided by the Department.
2. Both mid-year (even if “Nothing to Report”) and final reports must be submitted to the Department
officer by the deadline dates, currently Nov. 5th (mid-year) and May 5th (final). Emails will not be
accepted.
3. The Auxiliary must contribute to the Department Community Service project.
4. The Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department of Michigan.
These rules may be changed as deemed necessary by the donor.

most. It is to be retained by said Auxiliary permanently.
7. The donor reserves the right to change these rules as deemed necessary by District II with the SEC
approval.

District V Council Paws With A Cause®Award – Monetary Award
This Award is given in recognition of outstanding work benefiting Paws with a Cause®.
1. The application for this Award is to be completely filled out and submitted via email or mailed
and postmarked to the Department Community Service Officer on or before May 5th.
2. Community Service mid-year and final reports must be submitted via email or mailed and
postmarked to the Department Community Service Officer on or before November 5 for mid-
year reports and May 5 for final reports to be considered for this award.
3. The award application and Community Service program service reports must be submitted via
email or submitted and postmarked through regular mail on or before the due dates. Late
submissions will NOT be considered. (If you choose to email your paperwork, please check that
the Department Community Service Officer received it).
4. The Department service project sheets shall be used when applying for this award. All projects
listed on the sheet(s) for this Award shall be included on the Community Service report.
5. The local Auxiliary must have donated to the Department Community Service fund for Paws
with a Cause®.
6. The winner will be figured statistically – see judging criteria.
7. The local Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department.
Judging Criteria
1. Total evaluation shall be divided by the total membership to decide the winner.
2. In the event of a tie, the number of projects will be the deciding factor.
3. If there are any questions, contact the District V President or her Representative, if she is
unavailable.
4. The award will be presented by the District V President or her representative if she is unable to
attend.
This Award will be a monetary award. These rules may be changed at the Donor’s discretion, with SEC
approval.

has done outstanding work in the Hospital program. This is a certificate (unless or until a donor takes
over this award). To be eligible, the following requirements must be met:
1. Mid-year and final reports must be on regulation forms provided by the Department.
2. Mid-year and final reports must be submitted by the deadline dates required by the Department
or be disqualified.
3. The Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department of Michigan Auxiliary.
4. In the event of a tie in total evaluation, hospital hours will be the determining factor.

District I Hospital Award: in Memory of PDP Jeane Wedyke – Traveling
Plaque
This award is presented to the Local Auxiliary of any size in the Department of Michigan AMVETS
Ladies Auxiliary who has done the most outstanding work in the Hospital program. This is a traveling
Plaque. To be eligible for this award, the following requirements must be complied with:
1. Reports must be on regulation forms.
2. Mid-year and final reports must be submitted to the Department Hospital Officer by the deadline
dates set by the Department of Michigan or be disqualified.
3. A List of volunteers shall be attached to the report.
4. The winning Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department of Michigan.
5. The Auxiliaries that are not near a Veterans Hospital and volunteers at regular hospital or a
Nursing Home would be considered under the hospital program.
Judging Criteria:
1. This award shall be based on total evaluation.
2. Everything done under a Hospital program should be considered.
3. This award shall continue until the plaque is filled with the Auxiliary winning it the most
retaining it.

AMERICANISM/SOS AWARDS
PDP Allison Aldrich Americanism Award – Traveling Plaque
This award is presented to the local Auxiliary with 10 to 40 members in the Department of Michigan
AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary who has done the most outstanding work in Americanism. This will be a
traveling plaque. To be eligible for this award, the following requirements must be complied with:
1. Reports must be on regulation forms.
2. Both a midyear and final report must be submitted to the Department Officer by the deadline dates
set by the Department of Michigan or be disqualified. Deadlines are Nov. 5th (mid-year) and May
5th (final).
3. Local Auxiliary must have contributed to the Department Americanism project.
4. If the winning report belongs to an Auxiliary which is not in good standing, they shall not be
considered for this award.
Judging Criteria:
1. In the event of a tie in the total evaluation, the number of hours of Auxiliary members shall be the
deciding factor.
If I am not at the Department Convention to present this award, the current Americanism Officer shall
present it. I reserve the right to change these rules as deemed necessary by myself.

PDP Pat Michalski Americanism Award – Traveling Plaque
This award is presented to the Local Auxiliary with 41 members and over who has done outstanding work
in Americanism. This is a traveling award. To be eligible for this award, the following requirements must
be complied with:
1. The Auxiliary must contribute to the Department Joint Americanism fund.
2. Mid-year and final Americanism reports must be submitted by the deadline date set by the
Department or be disqualified.
3. Reports must be submitted on current Department report forms and must be postmarked or emailed
by Nov. 5th (mid-year) or May 5th (final).
4. This award is for Auxiliary participation only.
5. The Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department of Michigan.
6. This award shall be based on the total evaluation divided by the local Auxiliary membership.
When all the name plates are filled, this plaque shall be awarded to the Auxiliary that won it the most
times, to be retained by said Auxiliary permanently. If the donor is not able to be at Department
Convention to present the award, the current Americanism officer shall present it. The donor reserves the

This award is presented to the local Auxiliary with the most outstanding S.O.S. program. To be eligible
for this award, the following requirements must be complied with:
1. Mid-year and final reports must be submitted in order to be eligible.
2. Reports must be submitted by the deadline dates as designated by the Department.
3. Use only current report forms supplied by the Department.
4. Auxiliary must contribute to the Department S.O.S. fund
5. Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department.
The donor shall have the right to update these rules as deemed necessary.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
PDP Neva Colley Scholarship Award: In Memory of PDP Janice Hapner
This award is presented to the local Auxiliary having 10 to 40 members with the most outstanding
Scholarship Program in the Department of Michigan. This is a cash award presented at each Convention.
To be eligible for this award, the following requirements must be complied with:
1. The Auxiliary must have participated in one (1) or more scholarship program.
2. The Auxiliary must have contributed to the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Department of Michigan
scholarship Fund.
3. The Auxiliary must submit a mid-year (even if nothing to report) and final report, completed by
the deadline date, by US Mail or E-mail, on regulation form, which is provided by the
Department of Michigan.
4. The winning Auxiliary shall be in good standing with the Department.
A. This award is for Auxiliary participation only.
B. In case of a tie, hours will be the deciding factor.
In the event the donor is not present at the annual Convention, this award shall be presented by
Auxiliary 126’s President.

PDP Clarice Poisson Scholarship Award – Cash Award
This award is presented to the local Auxiliary with a membership of 41 members and over who has the
most outstanding Scholarship program in the Department. This shall be a cash award.

2. They must submit a mid-year report (even if there is nothing to report) and a completed final report,
postmarked or emailed by the deadline dates set by the Department of Michigan.
3. In the event of a tie, total hours will determine the winner.

PDP Doreen Pierce Scholarship Award – Traveling Plaque
This award is presented to the local Auxiliary based on cash donations to the Department Scholarship
program. This is a travelling award. To be eligible for this award, the following requirements must be
complied with:
1. The Auxiliary winning the award will be in good standing.
2. The Auxiliary must send their mid-year and final reports by the due dates set by the Department
of Michigan.
3. This award is given to the Auxiliary with the largest total cash donation to the Scholarship
program.
The Donor shall have the right to amend these rules as deemed necessary with the agreement of the
Department. After five years, this will be retired to the Auxiliary who has received it the most.

SCRAPBOOK/PRO AWARDS
PDP Seletha Robertson PRO/Scrapbook Award – Traveling Plaque
This award is given to the Local Auxiliary with the most Outstanding PRO Scrapbook in the AMVETS
Ladies Auxiliary Department of Michigan.
A. Inside mandatory material – must be in this order:
1. Table of Contents
2. Name of Auxiliary, Local President, Historian, year
3. Pledge of Allegiance, Preamble, Code of Ethics
4. By-laws
5. Charter Members and Officers
6. Final Local Service Reports
B. Contents:
1. Awards and trophies won, donations, projects, menus, souvenirs, reports, newspaper
clippings/press releases, pictures
2. Include only AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary programs
3. Identify pictures, dates, occasions, locations and items
4. Mid-year and final report must be included
5. Place social events at the end
C. Judging Criteria:
1. Presentation – originality 30 points
2. Neatness – layout, general make-up, internal appearance 30 points
3. Newspaper clippings, pictures, articles, press releases 15 points
4. Conformance and theme – closely follows the table of contents 15 points
5. Misc. – menus, invitations, thank you notes, souvenirs, and etc. 10 points

PDP Jill Byrne Scrapbook Cover Award – Traveling Plaque
This award is for the most unique scrapbook cover by a local Auxiliary. This will be a traveling award
with retirement to the Auxiliary that has won it the most.
1. It is to be judged by the PRO/Scrapbook Committee in accordance with the AMVETS Ladies
Auxiliary National rules.
2. The winning Auxiliary shall be in good standing with the Department.
3. This award is to be presented by the donor. If she is not present, it shall be presented by the Honors
and Awards Chairman.
The donor reserves the right to change these rules as deemed necessary by the SEC and herself.

THIS AWARD IS AVAILABLE
OURSTANDING AUXILIARY AWARDS
PDP Nancy J. Blok Most Outstanding Auxiliary Award –
Traveling Plaque
This award is presented to the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary doing the most outstanding work in the service
programs sponsored by the Department of Michigan. To be eligible for this award the following must be
complied with:
1. The Auxiliary must be in good standing with the Department of Michigan and eligible to vote on
the Convention floor.
2. All mid-year and final reports must be submitted to the respective Officers on the current report
forms approved by the Department and submitted by the date set forth by the Department, even if
nothing to report.
3. The Auxiliary must have won at least two (2) first place awards in any of the following service
programs: Child Welfare, Community Service, Americanism, SOS, Hospital or Scholarship in
their membership category.
4. They must contribute to the General Fund.
Judging Criteria:
1. In the event of a tie, the total evaluation of hours spent in all service programs, divided by the
total local membership shall be the determining factor.
2. No Auxiliary shall be disqualified because of human error (i.e. math error).
3. If the Officers cannot agree on a winner, they should call the donor for her opinion.
When the plaque is filled, it shall be retained by the Auxiliary that has won it the most.
