Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship Award Key-Ted Michael Hayden This award is presented each year to the graduating senior in Alpha Kappa Psi with the highest cumulative grade point average. The recipient's name will be engraved on the scholarship award tablet. Alpha Kappa Psi is a professional business fraternity. A certificate will be presented by Howard Giles, faculty adviser.

The recipient is selected by the departmental faculty in recognition of outstanding academ ic a ch ievement , campus leader ship and contribution to the departmental co-curricular activities. A plaque will be presented by Vernon Gantt, chairman.

Outstanding Senior Debater-Russell E . Walker The award is given annually to the senior debater whose record of achievement and whose cont ribut ion to the MSU Forensics program has been exemplary. The name of the r ecipient is inscribed on a plaque on permanent display in the department. Vernon Gantt , chairman, will present the award .

Award of Merit in Forensic Competition-Timothy T. Reding The award is presented in recognition of competitive achievement in forensics. Sponsored by the MSU Forensic Union, the recipient is selected by the staff of the director of forensics for demonstrated excellence in a broad range of competitive forensic events. A plaque will be presented by Vernon Gantt, chairman.

Sock and Buskin Ou tstanding Member-Diana L. Johnson The award for outstanding achievement in theatre arts is given each year to the member who has been the most dedicated in serving the Sock and Buskin Drama Club and the University Theatre. A plaque will be presented by Vernon Gantt, chairman.

Alpha P si Omega O u tstanding Member-Roxana Gail Witt A plaque is awarded as a symbol of meritorious work in all phases of theatre production. Beta Beta Beta Society Outstanding Member-Shawn Boyd and Walter Morrow

The selection was on the basis of grade point average, contribution to the society, willingness to participate in projects, and participation of leadership. A certificate will be presented and the recipient's name inscribed on a permanent plaque in the department. The award is presented to the student who demonstrates superior academic achievement, possesses leadership qualities and is active in extracurricular activities. The honoree is presented with one year's membership in the Association of American Geographers or membership in the American Institute of Planners, and his name will be inscribed on a departmental plaque. James Matthai, chairman, will present the award for Gamma Theta Upsilon, an international honor society in geography.

Max Carman Scholarship-Loucia Mavrokordatos The Department of Mathematics recommends to the Euclidean Mathematics Club candidates for this award who are juniors and club members . Department of Instruction and Learning John G. Taylor, chairman Student National Education Association Outstanding Member-Michelle D. Beasley

The award is presented to a full-time junior or senior active member of SNEA with a high academic standing. The Student National Education Association is an academic club for future educators. A certificate will be presented by Truman Whitfield, sponsor .
