1. Teacher Rationale for Curriculum Content (intentional reflection & philosophy)
2. Standards and Objectives
3. Curriculum Plan (Pacing guides, course syllabus & sequence, curriculum maps, etc.)

Timeline of LEA Cohort Selection for Portfolio Review Process• Random Selection of 1/3 of the LEAs yearly
• Timeline – LEA undergoes honors portfolio review every 3 years
• 2013-14 LEA Cohort was notified on April 25th via email to LEA Superintendents
• 2013-14 Cohort is listed on the Wikispace
State-wide Honors Review Timeline
• 2012-13: Transition year/first Cohort selected
• 2013-2014:
– Fall, 2013 - Implementation of new Honors Rubric
– Feb/March, 2014 - First cohort portfolio submission & review
– Spring, 2013 - Second cohort notified
State-wide Review Timeline
• 2014-15:
– Second cohort portfolio submission & review
– Third cohort notified
• 2015-16
– Third cohort portfolio submission & review
– Three year LEA review process begins again
NCDPI Submission Process for Review: Electronic• NCDPI is developing a secure electronic
submission process that will be ready for use by the LEAs in the Fall, 2013.
• The Honors Rubric may be used to start the honors portfolio process in the LEA
• 2013-14 (First) Cohort will receive specific instructions and support in the fall semester
