Clinical Research at Advocate
The mission of the Research Department is
to promote multidisciplinary, lifelong learning
that enhances the quality of care delivered
and improves outcomes for our patients,
their families, and our community.
There are many reasons why patients
choose to participate in a clinical research.
Here's what you should know as a patient
participating in a clinical trial:
You are playing an important role in
advancing medicine and improving
care.
You may have access to new
medications or treatments not yet
available.
All patients are closely monitored
throughout the study to determine
both the safety and effectiveness of
new therapies.

Our mission for children
Our mission is to improve
children's health care through
research focused on their
mental, physical, and social
well being. The Center leads
and supports a number of
clinical trials and other studies
that involve young patients and
their families.
At the Advocate Children's
Hospitals, our goal is to
provide the best, evidence-
based care for all children. To
do that, we are actively
involved in clinical research to
better understand, treat, or
prevent childhood illnesses or
conditions. Clinical research is
vital to the advancement of
health care. Our clinicians
(physicians, nurses, and
others) are actively involved in
research and clinical trials.
Pediatric clinical trials and other research are
currently underway in many areas:
