mini GSM base station isavailable in compact indoor and outdoor cabinet

formats making it an ideal solution for a wide variety ofdeployment and coverage scenarios.The compact size of Motorola’s Horizon II mini base station means that it can bequickly deployed to provide rural, roadside coverage or as an indoor capacitysolution. The Horizon II mini may be configured with up to four cabinets deployed ina logical site.

The Indoor variant is unobtrusive and easy to site,making it ideal for delivering in-building coveragewith the functionality and capacity to meet today’sneeds.

The Horizon II mini standard Outdoor can be floor orwall mounted; the “Street Furniture” enclosure isvandal-resistance allowing deployments in roadsideor public areas. Both solutions offer service providerswide ranging deployment flexibility through secureand environment proof enclosures. The enclosuresare compact, making them easy to deploy, each alsoprovide 1U of 19” rack-mountable communicationsequipment space and a 48VDC power supply.Temperature control is achieved with a highlyefficient air-to-air heat exchanger, maintaining theinternal environment.

Flexible Performance GSM

The Horizon II mini is a highly capable and flexiblebase station; utilizing Motorola’s CTU2D radio withthe HIISC2 site controller, to provide entry level GSMcoverage with high performance and reliability andthe CTU4 multi-carrier radio with the BBU sitecontroller to support increased capacity and futuredata capability with Evolved EDGE.

Motorola’s CTU2D and CTU4 radios operate in eitherthe EGSM900 or GSM1800 bands; support GSMHalf Rate, Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR), GPRS andEDGE technologies. The CTU4 is also capable of

supporting Evolved EDGE and LTE.Expansion Beyond the Cabinet

Utilizing Motorola’s remote radio head unit, the RCTU4,carrier capacity can be expanded further with theaddition of up to six additional RF heads, offering thepossibility of 24 further carriers depending on the BBUsite controller loading. The RCTU4s can also be locatedto distances over 20km away, via the fast fiberconnection to the base station, offering even moreflexibility to this versatile base station.
